Commercial Vehicle Sales March 2022: Registers Positive Growth
In March 2022, Commercial Vehicle sales have witnessed an overall positive growth. Moreover, Tata Motors, Mahindra and Ashok Leyland yet again seal the top three spots. These positive YoY and MoM sales figures were achieved despite the pandemic related restrictions, slow automotive sales, and recent semiconductor shortage.

Tata Motors (33,900 units)
Tata Motors yet again leads the sales chart by selling 33,900 units of commercial vehicles in March 2022, which is 4,958 units more than what the company has managed to sell in March 2021. As a result, YoY sales have improved by more than 17 per cent.

Mahindra (17,349 units)
Mahindra sold 17,349 units in March 2022, resulting in a YoY sales increase of almost 46 per cent as the company could manage to sell just 11,901 units of its commercial vehicles in March 2021.

Ashok Leyland (11,676 units)
By selling 11,676 units in March 2022, Ashok Leyland performed exceptionally well and held on to the third spot. Apart from that YoY sales also improved by more than 10 per cent. In comparison, Ashok Leyland could only sell 10,563 units in March 2021.

VECV (4,566 units)
Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has been steadily growing in the Indian Commercial Vehicle segment. In March 2022, 4,566 units of commercial vehicles were sold by Volvo and Eicher. In terms of growth, VECV registered a YoY sales growth of more than 8 per cent last month.

Maruti (3,803 units)
Though Maruti is a market leader in the passenger vehicle segment, the automaker is struggling to make a similar impact in the Commercial Vehicle segment as it managed to sell just 3,803 units in March 2022. Moreover, YoY sales have dipped by almost 1 per cent.

Daimler (1,548 units)
Daimler Motors is still in a distant sixth spot in terms of sales. However, YoY sales figures are up by more than 7 per cent as the company managed to sell 1,548 units in March 2022, which is 106 units more than what the company managed to sell last year in March 2021.

Isuzu (662 units)
Isuzu commercial vehicles has managed to keep the 7th spot by selling 662 units in March 2022. Moreover, YoY growth now stands at more than 12 per cent as the company managed to sell just 589 units in March 2021.

Force Motors (631 units)
Force Motors sold 631 units of Commercial Vehicles in March 2022, resulting in a YoY sales increase of more than 55 per cent. During the sale time last year, the company managed to sell just 405 units.

Thoughts About Commercial Vehicle Sales In March 2022
The commercial vehicle segment has shown very positive growth in March 2022 and we expect this segment to continue its current trajectory for a few more years. Moreover, we expect a few electric commercial vehicle companies to show up on this list in a couple of years.
