2022 Citroen C3 Production Begins In Brazil Ahead Of Expected India Launch In July

The new Citroen C3 will be the first mass-market model in India from the brand and will be localized to over 90 per cent for manufacturing. As a result, the new SUV is expected to be priced aggressively when launched in the country.

Citroen C3 Design

The compact SUV's front fascia features the brand's Chevron logo finished in chrome and merges with the split headlamps design. The headlamps, DRL and grille combine to give the front-end an X-shaped design. The fog lamps housing receives colour coordinated accents.

Citroen C3 customers can personalize their SUV with up to 78 different accessories offered by the company. This includes choosing a unique exterior paint option for the roof, body and interiors.



The exterior colour options include Ice White, Platinium Grey, Artense Grey & Zesty Orange. The SUV is also offered with a dual-tone paint scheme which includes two roof colour options: Artense Grey & Zesty Orange.



Citroen C3 Interiors

Like the exteriors, the C3 features colour-coordinated accents on the inside. The theme provides fucky appeal to the interior design. The upcoming SUV will feature practical storage compartments, including a 1-litre glove box, two 2-litre door pockets at the front and rear, a storage compartment in the central console, as well as two cup holders in the rear which can become smartphone holders.

According to Citroen, the C3 offers rear passengers legroom of 653mm, which is the largest in the segment. Additionally, the front passengers enjoy the best elbow room of 1,418mm and the market-leading headroom of 991mm. Ample storage space could make the C3 featuring one of the most practical cabins in the segment when launched in India.



Citroen C3 Engine & Transmission

Citroen is yet to announce the engine specification for the new C3 in India. However, the compact SUV could be offered with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated engine. Transmission options could include a six-speed torque converter as standard.



Citroen C3 Rivals & Expected Price

The Citroen C3 will rival the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300 Ford EcoSport and other compact SUVs offered in India.



As mentioned earlier, the new Citroen aims to achieve 90% localization with the C3. This should helo the company to price the SUV aggressively when launched in India, which could start at around Rs 6 lakh, ex-showroom.



Thoughts About The Citroen C3 India India Launch

Citroen entered the Indian market in 2021 with the C5 Aircross priced close to the high-end cars. However, the upcoming C3 will be placed at the lower end of the pricing scale marking the brand's entry into the mass market segment in the country.

Pricing will be a key factor for the upcoming SUV's success as it has the looks and features to compete with its segment rivals.
