This One-Off Suzuki Jimny Convertible Is The What Everyone Wishes Was Theirs
It is just a matter of time before Maruti Suzuki launches the 5-door version of the Suzuki Jimny SUV in India. Now, an image of the Suzuki Jimny convertible SUV is going viral on the internet. So, here's everything you need to know about this one-off Suzuki Jimny convertible SUV.
Speaking about the Suzuki Jimny Convertible SUV, the model is not an official product of the Japanese automaker. It is also worth mentioning that this customisation is not a shabby garage build and the model looks pretty neat. In fact, the model is customised in China by a customisation studio YiChe Garage.
Starting with the front, the Suzuki Jimny Convertible by YiChe Garage ditches the stock headlights, front grille and front bumper of the standard Suzuki Jimny SUV to make way for custom-built ones.
This new front grille seems to be a single-piece unit finished in glossy black paint. In addition to that, the front grille also features rectangular slots with 'Conscience' lettering in the middle. Moreover, the lettering is positioned in such a way that it neatly aligns with the horizontal turn indicators that extend outwards by dividing the circular headlights into two equal parts.
To make the SUV look even more interesting, the custom builder has equipped the SUV with chunky black squarish wheel arches, black 6-spoke alloy wheels, knobby tyres with this side profile, and an attractive-looking LED taillamp. It is also worth mentioning that the chunky bumpers and the wheel arches have been made from carbon fibre.
That being said, the convertible Suzuki Jimny SUV also comes with a customised interior with lighter interior colours to make the cabin feel more airy.
Since the Suzuki Jimny SUV is not sold in China, the customisation company had to fully import the SUV into China. Reports suggest that the import of the Jimny SUV itself cost the company approximately $60,000 and the company has spent an additional $60,000 for the customisation of the SUV.
That being said, we are not sure whether the Indo-Japanese automaker will launch the 3-door version of the Suzuki Jimny SUV in India despite the fact that the model is manufactured in the country.
However, given that the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door SUV is more practical than its 3-door counterpart, we expect high demand for the model from day 1 onwards.
In terms of powertrain, we expect the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door SUV to be powered by the new K15C, 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated, 4-cylinder petrol engine. This engine in Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, XL6 and Vitara Brezza produces a respectable 103bhp of peak power and 136.8Nm of peak torque.
Thoughts About Maruti Suzuki Jimny
The customised Suzuki Jimny convertible looks very neat and almost like a concept vehicle built by a manufacturer. That being said, while the 3-door variant of the Jimny SUV is a lot more desirable, in reality, the 5-door version of the Jimny SUV will appeal to more car buyers in India because of the added practicality it offers.
