Camouflaged Tata Nexon EV Spotted Again: May Come With Larger Battery Pack
The new Tata Nexon EV has been once again spotted with heavy camouflage and according to sources, the upcoming Tata Nexon EV may sport a larger 40kWh battery pack for an increased range compared to outgoing model.

Moreover, the updated version of the Nexon EV is likely to be launched in the first half of 2022. However, we are not sure whether this model will be sold alongside or replace the outgoing model.

With the uprated 40kWh battery pack, we expect a considerable jump in the range where the updated model could do 400+ kms on a single charge. Moreover, thanks to an almost 10kWh increase in battery capacity, the new Nexon EV could also weigh around 100 kgs more than the current model.

In comparison, Tata Motors claims a range of 312 kms on a single charge for the outgoing version of the Nexon EV and it comes with a 30.2kWh Li-ion battery pack and uses a 3 Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor with 127.23bhp and 245Nm of torque.

At present, the Tata Nexon EV range darts from Rs 14.29 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the base XM variant and this price goes up to Rs 16.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the top-of-the-line Dark XZ+ Lux variant, whereas the standard XZ+ Lux variant is priced at Rs 16.70 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

In India, Tata Nexon EV is one of the best selling electric vehicles and the band holds a commanding 70 per cent market share in the personal EV segment.

Speaking about Tata Motors dominance in personal EV segment, the Tata Tigor EV was recently updated with a much more advanced 350V Ziptron EV system. Moreover, the company recently announced that it had sold 10,000 EVs in India. However, this number combines both commercial and private EVs sold by the company.

Tata Motor also said that the company has built a viable road map for the future and the company is committed to staying in this course of making EVs mainstream.

As we know, Tata Motors is preparing to become the biggest player for electric vehicles in India with the help of other entities under the Tata Group such as Tata Chemicals, Tata Autocomp, Tata Power, Croma, and Tata Motors Finance.

Working in tandem with these companies, Tata Motors could successfully form an expansive e-mobility ecosystem in the country.
Thoughts About Tata Nexon EV With 40kWh Battery Pack
Thanks to its affordable price tag and well-judged specifications, the Tata Nexon EV has become a default choice for many EV buyers in the country.

Now, with a larger 40kWh Li-ion battery pack, the Tata Nexon EV will have a higher range on a single charge, which could give more peace of mind to potential customers with range anxiety. Moreover, this increased range could attract more people to consider EV for daily commute.
