BYD India Inaugurates New Showroom In Mohali - Further Expands Operations

In addition to that, BYD's latest showroom in India comes with 3S (Sales, Service, and Spares) facility. Moreover, the showroom is equipped with well-trained technicians, all necessary service equipments, multiple service bays, EV charging stations, a customer lounge area, a multi-car display and a few more amenities as well.

This new showroom in Mohali was inaugurated by Mr Sachit Passi, Partner, Krishna BYD, Mr Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India, in the presence of senior officials of BYD India and Krishna BYD.

Mr Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business of BYD India, said, "Close on the heels of announcing the launch of our premium electric SUV, BYD-ATTO 3, India's First Sporty Born E-SUV, we are thrilled to announce our eighth showroom in the country in Mohali. We are thrilled to enter the city with our first passenger vehicle showroom as it is one of the key markets for BYD India. With our global expertise in EPVs, we are geared up to offer a range of pure electric vehicles that address the discerning needs of our customers. We are confident the recent EV policy brought in by the state government will further amplify the EV adoption in the state and are looking forward to be a key player in the market."

Though the BYD e6 electric MUV is the only model currently sold by BYD in India, the automaker has already opened bookings for its BYD Atto 3 electric SUV and the company has high hopes for the model with an intention to sell 15,000 units in 2023.

Both the BYD e6 electric MUV and the new BYD Atto 3 electric SUV are brought to India as CKD (completely knocked down) units. This means both the electric vehicles from BYD are manufactured outside India with only the assembling of the models done in the country.

Recently, the new BYD Atto 3 electric SUV bagged a 5-Star safety rating at the Euro NCAP crash test. Moreover, this safety rating will be applicable to the models sold in India as the electric SUV is brought to India as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit.

It is also worth mentioning that, most of the safety parameters were rated either 'good' or 'adequate' by Euro NCAP for adult occupant protection. In addition to that, a perfect score for child safety was only lost due to the lack of an integrated child restraint system (CRS) in the Atto 3 electric SUV.

Speaking about safety, the BYD Atto 3 electric SUV comes with life-saving safety features such as multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), Hill Hold Assistance, rear parking sensors, 360-degree surround view camera, and many more.

Moreover, the BYD Atto 3 electric SUV also features advanced safety systems such as adaptive cruise control with stop & go function, forward collision warning (FCW), lane-keeping assist, door open warning, blind-spot monitoring system, auto emergency braking (AEB), rear cross-traffic alert and more.

Powering the BYD Atto 3 electric SUV is a large 60.48kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and a 201bhp electric motor. Thanks to this powertrain setup, the BYD Atto 3 electric SUV can accelerate from a standstill to 100km/h in just 7.3 seconds and also comes with an ARAI-rated range of 521 kilometres. In addition to that, the BYD Atto 3 electric SYV supports fast charging up to 100kW, enabling to SUV to charge from 0 per cent to 80 per cent in just 50 minutes.
