BYD e6 Enters India Book Of Records. Here’s Everything You Need To Know
BYD e6 enters the India Book Of Records after covering maximum distance on battery power. The record-breaking BYD e6 electric MUV covered 2,203 kilometres in 6 days and covered 9 cities on the way from Delhi to Mumbai.
During the journey, the record-breaking BYD e6 all-electric MUV crossed four states by passing through eco-sensitive zones around National Parks. In total, BYD e6 has completed more than 4.7 crore km and during this journey, BYD claims that the e6 electric MUV saved more than 4.13 lakh grams of carbon emissions.
Speaking about BYD e6, the electric MUV is the first premium MUV to adopt the automaker's Blade Battery Technology in India. This technology was globally recognised and acclaimed for its safety, range and charging cycle. The secret to the longevity of this battery pack is the use of lithium iron phosphate technology. This improves the volumetric energy density by 50 per cent.
In India, BYD e6 electric MUV was launched with a price tag of Rs 29.15 lakh (ex-showroom, India). However, the BYD e6 electric MPV is a five-seater MPV for commercial purposes only and cannot be registered as a private vehicle.
In terms of specifications, the BYD e6 electric MPV is powered by a 93.67bhp electric motor that is good for 130km/h top speed. Apart from that, the BYD e6 comes equipped with a large 71.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack.
According to BYD, the BYD e6 electric MUV has a WLTC range of 520km per full charge in city driving conditions and 415km per full charge in combined driving conditions. Apart from that, the BYD e6 electric MUV supports both AC and DC fast charging.
Speaking about the range, the BYD e6 electric MUV can charge its battery pack from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in just 35 minutes using a suitable DC fast charger.
The demand for EVs across the nation has also skyrocketed in the nation - thanks to better electric vehicles with improved range and rising fuel prices. Moreover, the personal EV sector is currently dominated by Tata Motors with more than 75 per cent market share.
Apart from that, the premium electric car segment is also seeing new launches and further reassures the demand for EVs in the market is growing.
