BMW M5 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition Launched At Rs 1.79 Crore

The new BMW M5 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition is one of 10 exclusive '50 Jahre M Editions' that celebrates the 50th anniversary of the German carmaker's go-faster motorsports arm - M. The BMW M5 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition is the 8th of these special editions to hit Indian shores. For the 50 Jahre M Edition, BMW has made a few cosmetic tweaks to the M5 Competition. The most visible of these changes is the exclusive BMW Individual Aventurine Red paint finish for the M5 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition.

Other changes on this limited edition version of the M5 Competition include the 50 Jahre M BMW badge on the nose, wheels and boot lid. Other external changes come in the form of a high gloss black finish for the kidney grilles, M-specific double bars, the mesh on the M gills, mirror caps and the additional rear spoiler on the boot lid.

The M compound brake callipers are finished off in high gloss red while the tips for the quad tailpipes for the standard M Sport exhaust system are finished in Black Chrome. The wheels as in the 'regular' M5 Competition are 20-inch units with a Jet Black finish.

Step inside the M5 50 Jahre M Edition and you'll find even more distinct highlights in the form of Aragon Brown Merino leather upholstery and the BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite. M multifunction seats with integral head restraints, an illuminated 'M5' logo and extended functions come as standard on the special edition car.

Other features like the M Seat belts, M footrest and pedals, M Leather Steering Wheel, seat heating (driver and front passenger), electrical seat adjustment with memory function, automatic tailgate and the large carbon fibre reinforced polymer sunroof also come as standard on the 50 Jahre M Edition of the M5 Competition.

Nothing has been tweaked under the bonnet of the BMW M5 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition and the super sedan continues to draw power from a high-revving twin-turbo V8 engine. The BMW M5 Competition's 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine produces 617bhp at 6,000rpm and 750Nm of peak torque between 1,800 and 5,800rpm. The engine is paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox.

The BMW M5 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition sprints from 0-100km/h in just 3.3 seconds and will continue to accelerate to an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h. Dropping the limiter raises the top speed to 305km/h.
