The new BMW M3 Touring will make its public debut at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed later this week as part of BMW M's 50th birthday celebrations.

The new BMW M3 Touring is offered only in the Competition with the M Division's version of the xDrive all-wheel drive system. The M3 Touring like its other siblings bearing the M3 badge draws power from a high-revving 3.0-litre straight-six engine that has a redline of 7,200rpm.

The BMW M3 Touring's engine produces 503bhp at 6,250rpm and 650Nm of peak torque between 2,750 and 5,500rpm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with launch control.

The BMW M3 Touring sprints from 0-100km/h in just 3.6 seconds which is just one-tenth of a second slower than its sedan sibling. The M3 estate will hit 200km/h from a standstill in just 12.9 seconds. The BMW M3 Touring has an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h which can be lifted to 280km/h by choosing the optional M Driver's Package.

The BMW M3 Touring is 4,794mm long, 1,903mm wide and 1,436mm tall. The wheelbase of the M3 estate is 2,857mm long. The M3 Touring's boot offers 500 litres of space which can be expanded to 1,510 litres by folding down the rear seats.

The BMW M3 Touring gets the M Division's adaptive M suspension setup with electronically controlled shock absorbers as standard. The M3 Touring rides on 19-inch (front) and 20-inch (rear) wheels which can be shod with optional track-spec tyres. The M3 Touring can also be fitted with carbon-ceramic brakes if its new owner chooses to.

The BMW M3 Touring takes the regular 3 Series Touring and gives it the elongated vertical kidney grilles from the M3 sedan at the front and front bumper setup at the front. The M3 Touring also features a more aggressive body kit with massively flared wheelarches.

The rear section of the M3 Touring features the biggest visual changes compared to the regular M3 in the form of the estate rear end. This rear end also gets the 3 Series Touring's unique rear glass allowing owners to load up the boot by just opening the rear window. Also seen at the rear is a large diffuser setup with the quad-tip setup for the M-specific exhaust system.

Step inside the new M3 Touring and the changes from the sedan version of the performance car are even more visible. The new M3 Touring sport's BMW dual-display setup first seen on the IX electric SUV. In the M3 Touring, the single curved pane of glass hosts a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 14.9-inch central touchscreen for the infotainment system.

The new M3 Touring gets M Sport seats as standard but owners can also opt for carbon fibre-backed bucket seats. The M3 Touring gets Merino leather upholstery as standard.
