Barbie Maserati Grecale Is As Pink As It Gets For A Brilliant Cause
Italian luxury carmaker Maserati has revealed the Barbie Maserati Grecale. The Barbie Maserati Grecale was made by the Italian marque as part of its unprecedented collaboration with Mattel's Barbie brand.
Italian luxury carmaker Maserati has revealed the bespoke Barbie Maserati Grecale SUV. The Barbie Maserati Grecale was made by the Italian marque as part of its unprecedented collaboration with Mattel's Barbie brand.
Only 2 of these bright Pink Grecale Trofeo SUVs will be built with the first one unveiled yesterday night as one of the 2022 Neiman Marcus Fantasy Gifts at the luxury retailer's holiday launch soirée in Los Angeles. Details about the other Barbie Maserati Grecale will be made available in 2023.
The first Barbie Maserati Grecale will be exclusive to the U.S. market (lower 48 states only) and commands a price tag of $330,000. Mattel will donate 10 per cent of the sales price to the Barbie Dream Gap Project - a global initiative that gives girls the resources and support they need to continue believing in themselves - page on GoFundMe.
The Barbie Maserati Grecale is a Trofeo model which features a bespoke Pink paint scheme which in true Barbie style is sealed with an iridescent topcoat that reveals an unmistakable rainbow effect on a sunny day.
Also seen are acid yellow lines on various sections of the SUV which are inspired by Maserati's racing heritage. The bespoke SUV also features multiple Barbie logos on the outside along with a Barbie 'B' on the C-Pillar.
Step inside the Barbie Grecale and you'll be greeted by an all-black interior with a few pink highlights. The interior sports full leather seats, dashboards, carpets, and doors that are accented with pink stitching. The leather seats also feature the stylised Barbie 'B' logo on the headrests.
The Grecale used for this bespoke Barbie project is a Trofeo model. The Barbie Maserati Grecale Trofeo is powered by the firm's 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged 90-degree Nettuno V6 engine that produces 523bhp at 6,500rpm and 620Nm of peak torque between 3,000 and 5,500rpm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The Maserati Grecale Trofeo sprints from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 285km/h. Maserati claims that the Grecale Trofeo will slow down from 100km/h to a standstill in under 40 metres which is quite good for an SUV that weighs just over 2 tonnes.
The Maserati Grecale Trofeo measures 4,859mm long, 1,979mm wide and 1,659mm tall. The Grecale Trofeo has a 2,901mm long wheelbase and a turning circle of 12.4 metres. The Grecale Trofeo SUV has a 570-litre boot and a 64-litre fuel tank.
Thoughts About Maserati's Collaboration With Barbie
Maserati's unique collaboration with Mattel's Barbie has resulted in a hot pink version of the Trident brand's flagship SUV. While the colour may not be to everyone's tastes, it supports a very noble cause and is something we can really get behind.
