When the production-spec version of the Audi A6 Avant e-tron arrives in two years time, it will closely resemble this show car which was unveiled at Audi's Annual Media Conference. The new Audi A6 Avant e-tron will be the second EV to bear the A6 badge after the A6 Sportback electric car that was revealed at the 2021 Shanghai Motor Show.

Speaking about the new Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept Audi Board Member for Technical Development Oliver Hoffmann said, "With the Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept, we are offering a completely tangible look at future production models on our new PPE technology platform. We're not just electrifying the Avant's successful 45-year history. What we want most of all is to use technical skill to add an exclamation point. In particular, this includes powerful 800 volt technology, 270 kW of charging capacity, and a WLTP range of up to 700 kilometers."

The Audi A6 Avant e-tron is powered by a nearly 100kWh battery pack that the German carmaker claims is good for a range of 700 kilometres on a single charge.

The A6 Avant e-tron concept's battery pack feeds a dual-motor setup that delivers 469bhp and 800Nm of peak torque. This twin motor setup claims Audi allows the A6 Avant e-tron concept to sprint from 0-100km/h in less than 4 seconds.

A single motor version of the A6 Avant e-tron will be available when the production car arrives which will do the 0-100km/h sprint in under 7 seconds.

The A6 Avant e-tron is based on the Volkswagen Group's Premium Platform Electric platform which will underpin upcoming Audi and Porsche EVs. Audi's latest e-tron concept car is 4.96 metres long, 1.96 metres wide and stands 1.44 metres tall.

The concept electric A6 estate uses an 800V electric architecture which allows for fast charging at up to 270kW. Audi claims that the A6 Avant e-tron concept will charge from 5 to 80 per cent in just 25 minutes with a 10-minute charge adding 300 kilometres to the electric estate's range.

The Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept shows off a near-complete spec of the design of the production set to arrive in 2024.

Up at the front end of the car, the Audi signature rings are embedded into the single-frame grille element. The Audi badge up front is an illuminated unit while the 'grille' sports colling vents on either side. These vents sit under the ultra-sleek Matrix LED projector headlights.

The concept car sits on large 22-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels that look rather snazzy. The sides of the A6 Avant e-tron are clean to allow for better airflow.

At the rear, the lightbar style OLED taillights feature unique graphics while also incorporating the Audi badge. Also seen at the rear of the concept car is the large diffuser section which should help funnel out all the air that is flowing under the car.

The Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept shows the future of Audi's super estate car. The design is classic Audi and we can't wait for the production car to arrive in 2024. Hopefully, Audi will let the fellows in the RS division play around with it by then and we'll hopefully get an electric version of the bonkers RS6 Avant.
