Another Teaser Of The Volkswagen Virtus Comes Out: Reveals Front End Of The Upcoming Sedan

According to Volkswagen, the Virtus mid-size sedan will make its global debut on 8th March 2022 and the new teaser further reminds the audience about the global debut date of the mid-size sedan.

This new teaser partially reveals the front and top portion of the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus sedan and shows that the mid-size sedan will come with LED projector headlamps and neatly laid out L-shaped LED DRLs.

Speaking about the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus sedan, the upcoming Skoda Slavia and the Volkswagen Virtus are almost identical under the skin and use the same MQB-A0 IN platform as other cars under the Volkswagen Group such as Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq.

This means the Volkswagen's Vento replacement will be powered by the same two engine options as the other cars under the Volkswagen Group such as the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Skoda Slavia.

The first engine option is the 1.0-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine and it is likely to produce around 113bhp of peak power and 178Nm of peak torque. In comparison, the larger 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine is likely to produce 150bhp of peak power and 250Nm of peak torque.

Paring these engine options on the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus will be a choice of manual and automatic transmission options. Moreover, like most of its rivals, the manual transmission in the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus is a 6-speed gearbox.

However, the automatic transmission varies between the two engines on offer and the 1.0-litre TSI engine is likely to come with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, whereas the Volkswagen Virtus equipped with the more potent 1.5-litre TSI engine is likely to get a more advanced 7-speed DSG transmission as other Volkswagen cars.

In terms of features, expect the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus will carry forward most features from the Skoda Slavia, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun. This means the Volkswagen Virtus may come with features such as a wireless charging pad, electric sunroof, automatic climate control, automatic headlamps, automatic wipers, fully-digital instrument cluster, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control and much more.

As the new Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Slavia and the Skoda Kushaq come with a long safety list, expect the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus to mimic the same safety features such as 6-airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, Traction Control (TC), Rear parking sensors, rearview camera, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and much more.

However, in terms of pricing, expect the Volkswagen Virtus to be priced around Rs 10,000 to 15,000 more expensive than the almost identical Skoda Slavia when they finally go head-to-head in the Indian automobile market.
