All You Need To Know About Boycott Hyundai Hashtags: Hyundai Releases Statement Regarding The Issue

The reason behind this negative campaign against the South Korean automotive giant was due to a tweet from its Pakistani Twitter handle, where it tweeted "Let us remember the sacrifices of our Kashmiri brothers and stand in support as they continue to struggle for freedom."

This was tweeted on February 5, the day which Pakisthan remembers as Kashmir Solidarity Day.

However, following the heavy backlash for the tweet from Indian Twitter users, the tweet was quickly removed by the Pakistani Twitter handle. Post which, Hyundai also issued an official statement that the brand stands firmly for the strong ethos of respecting nationalism.

In the statement, Hyundai also mentioned that the company has a zero-tolerance policy towards insensitive communication and it strongly condemns any such views. Moreover, the statement also pointed out that the brand has been in the Indian automotive market for more than 25 years.

Speaking about Hyundai, the South Korean automobile giant is planning to launch six new electric cars in India by 2028 and focus on charging infrastructure.

The South Korean brand's announcement regarding its plans for launching 6 new electric cars by 2028 was made recently and the South Korean automobile company stated that it will be introducing its E-GMO modular architecture in the country.

Hyundai also added that the future electric vehicles will be based on the E-GMP architecture and will be available in different body styles to suit various requirements of customers.

Speaking about Hyundai's E-GMP architecture, it is a dedicated platform for electric vehicles and the electric vehicles built on this platform will range from simple and efficient mass-market models to top-tier premium segments.

Though India is one of the biggest markets for automobile manufacturers across the globe, the personal electric vehicle segment in the country is yet to find traction compared to many other global markets.

One of the biggest reasons for the lack of growth in the personal EV sector can be related to the lack of electric vehicle infrastructure in the country.

However, Hyundai has plans to counter the issue of lack of charging infrastructure, for this the South Korean brand will also be focussing its resources to develop charging infrastructure across the country to support the charging of its electric vehicles in the near future.

To develop these charging infrastructures in the country, Hyundai India will be joining hands with local EV charging companies in the country.

Hyundai already has one electric vehicle in its current product portfolio, the Kona EV and the electric vehicle has been meeting expectations in Indian cities like Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai.

Hyundai is a South Korean brand and the second biggest car manufacturer in India in terms of volume. Given its history with India, the South Korean manufacturer could have been a bit more careful with its social media posts.
