2023 Suzuki Swift Spied For The First Time
The fourth-generation Suzuki Swift has been spotted testing for the first time. This new generation Swift hatchback model is likely to be launched before mid-2023. The first spied pictures of the 2023 Suzuki Swift was taken in Europe and the spied model featured a heavily camouflaged exterior.
However, despite the heavily camouflaged exterior of the upcoming fourth-generation Suzuki Swift, it is clear that the model features extensive design changes yet retains unmistakably 'Swift' proportions.
Looking at the camouflage images, the new Suzuki Swift seems to look a lot more mature in its design with a flatter bonnet and nose section. Also, the wheelbase seems to have been slightly stretched as well to improve interior space and high speed stability.
Taking a closer look at these spied images, we can also see that the upcoming fourth-generation Suzuki Swift features numerous changes such as sleeker-looking LED headlamps, new front grille, lower and wider air intakes, more pronounced wheel arches, larger alloy wheels, and a large roof-mounted spoiler.
Also, it is worth mentioning that the upcoming fourth-generation Suzuki Swift will be featuring a more conventional type of door handles for the rear door. This eliminates the boyish character of the hatchback and gives it a more upmarket stance.
In terms of features, we expect the 2023 Suzuki Swift to come packed with a long list of features and advanced safety systems. Also, the 2023 Suzuki Swift will be based on an advanced version of Suzuki's Heartect platform with more emphasis on safety.
At present, the Maruti Suzuki Swift in India is powered by a 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated engine with 89bhp of power and 113Nm of peak torque. Also, this engine comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
In international markets, the Suzuki Swift is available with a choice of two engines. This includes the above-mentioned 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated engine, and a more powerful 1.0-litre turbocharged engine with 110bhp of power and 160Nm of torque.
Also, the Suzuki Swift Sport comes with a more powerful 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This engine produces 128bhp of peak power and 230Nm of torque. However, in order to simplify production, we expect Maruti's version of the fourth-generation Swift to continue with the same powertrain as the third-generation Swift.
In addition to that, we expect the fourth-generation Swift to be launched very soon on the Indian market following the international launch of the model.
Thoughts About 2023 Suzuki Swift
Given the highly competitive hatchback segment in India, we expect the Indo-Japanese automaker to launch the fourth-generation Swift soon after the international model.
Also, we expect the feature list of the upcoming 2023 Maruti Suzuki Swift to be similar to the recently updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
