2023 Lexus LX500d Launched In India At Rs 2.82 Crore
Lexus has finally launched the LX500d SUV in India with a starting price of Rs 2.82 Crore (ex-showroom, India).
Diving into details, the Lexus LX500d is mechanically similar to the much revered Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 SUV, but it packs in a lot more luxurious features compared to the latter.
Starting with the design, the Lexus LX500d SUV looks the business with its massive front grille and sleek-looking LED headlights. On top of that, the two distinct power bulges on the bonnet give the SUV a lot of character. Moreover, the squared-off wheel arches complement the side profile.
That being said, the flared wheel arches along with the prominent shoulder line neatly divide the mass on the side. This is further helped by the use of large 20-inch alloy wheels. Coming to the rear, the full-width LED light bar accentuates the width of the Lexus LX500d and makes the SUV look contemporary and stylish.
Powering the new Lexus 500d SUV is a powerful 3.3-litre, turbocharged, V6 diesel engine. This oil burner replaces the old 1VD-FTV V8 turbocharged diesel engine and the newer engine is not only more efficient but also more powerful at 304bhp of peak power and 700Nm. Furthermore, this powertrain comes mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
It is also worth mentioning that the new Lexus LX SUV platform is around 200 kilograms lighter than the old one. This reduction in weight has many benefits including better performance and fuel efficiency as well. Other benefits include improved handling and fewer emissions as well.
In terms of features, the Lexus LX500d comes with a much plusher interior and a more premium-looking design compared to the Land Cruiser LC300. Other noticeable features include a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a smaller 7-inch screen for climate control and off-road functions, and an 8-inch digital driver's instrument cluster.
