2022 Toyota Glanza Launch Just Around The Corner: May Sport 1.2-litre Dual Jet, Dual VVT Engine
Maruti Suzuki has launched the new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno in the Indian automotive market. This means Toyota will soon launch the updated Glanza hatchback in the Indian market as the premium hatchback is essentially a rebadged version of the Baleno hatchback.
At present, the production of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno takes place at the brand's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Gujarat.
Since the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been launched, we expect Toyota to soon launch the new 2022 Glanza in the Indian market. However, unlike the Maruti Suzuki Baleno which is available in 4 trim levels, expect the upcoming 2022 Toyota Glanza hatchback to be offered in just 2 trim levels.
Speaking about the new 2022 Toyota Glanza, expect the latest premium hatchback from Toyota to be identical to the upcoming 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno. This means the new 2022 Toyota Glanza will feature the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno's redesigned front grille, LED headlamps, new L-shaped taillamps, front bumper, fog lamps, rear bumper, and many more.
Moreover, the upcoming new 2022 Toyota Glanza will also feature the new dashboard from the 2022 Baleno, along with other updates such as the new 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
In addition to these upgrades, the new 2022 Toyota Glanza will also come equipped with features such as flat-bottom steering wheel, revised instrument console, wireless charging pad, connected-car tech, heads-up display,and many more.
The new 2022 Baleno hatchback weighs around 50-70 kgs heavier than the previous model. So, it is safe to expect the new 2022 Glanza will also see an identical gain in weight compared to the previous model.
Apart from that, the new 2022 Toyota Glanza will also feature larger 14-inch disc brakes and an improved suspension system like the updated Baleno.
Similar to the new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the upcoming Toyota Glanza will also come with safety features such as 6 airbags, ESP, Hill-Hold Assist, ABS, EBD, reverse parking sensors, ISOFIX anchoring points and a few more.
Moreover, the 2022 Toyota Glanza will be offered with just one engine option like the new Baleno. This engine is a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine with a 12-volt mild-hybrid system. In the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno, this engine produces 89bhp of peak power and 113Nm of peak torque.
In the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the 5-speed manual gearbox remains identical to the previous model. However, the CVT gearbox of the earlier model has been replaced with a 5-speed AMT unit. So, expect the upcoming Toyota Glanza to come with identical changes.
Thoughts About The New 2022 Toyota Glanza
Though Toyota has a very strong sales and service network in India, the brand has been experiencing some decline in sales in recent years. High volume models like Toyota Glanza will help Toyota boost its sales numbers in India. However, it will be great if Toyota adds some changes to the upcoming Glanza to visually differentiate the model from the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
