2022 MG ZS EV Base Variant Homologated

Now, MG Motor India is finally gearing up to finally retail the base MG ZS EV 'Excite' variant in India. For this, the Chinese-owned British automaker has homologated the base 'Excite' trim of the MG ZS EV SUV.

At the time of launch, the MG ZS EV 'Excite' trim level price was revealed to be Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and we do not expect any changes in this pricing as the company has not yet sold any of the base variant in the country.

However, we do expect the prices to go up once the first batch of base MG ZS EV variant gets sold out. This is highly likely as the prices of many cars have gone up since MG announced the prices of the new MG ZS EV variants.

The newly launched 2022 MG ZS EV bookings have been closed as the electric vehicle has been sold out for 2022.

Speaking about selling out, the new MG ZS EV electric SUV has received an overwhelming response from Indian consumers as the initial batch of the newly updated electric SUV was sold out within a few weeks. Moreover, at the time of launch, the top-end 'Exclusive' variant was priced at Rs 25.88 Lakh (ex-showroom, India).

MG Motor India has been really proud of the MG ZS EV and the company says that each owner can take pride in buying the MG ZS EV SUV as they together have saved approximately 70 Lakh kilograms of carbon dioxide by using the MG ZS EV electric SUV. To put that into an understandable perspective, 70 Lakh kilograms of carbon dioxide is equivalent to planting 42,000 trees.

As part of the update, the new MG ZS EV electric SUV has been thoroughly updated and it now looks more like MG Astor with its updated front grille. However, despite such a refreshing update, the facelifted iteration of the MG ZS EV retains its original silhouette.

The Interior has also been significantly updated and MG says that the rear seat has been improved for more comfort - A change many Indian families will appreciate. However, the most noticeable change in the interior is the upgraded 10.1-inch infotainment system with added features.

However, out of all the changes, the most important update in the new MG ZS EV electric SUV is its updated powertrain system. This new powertrain system now comes with a larger 50.3kWh battery pack and a more powerful 173.6bhp electric motor with 280Nm of torque.

Thanks to this updated powertrain, the new MG ZS EV electric SUV can reach 100km/h from a standstill in just 8.5 seconds and deliver a maximum range of 461kms on a full charge.
