Design

In terms of design, the updated Maruti Suzuki XL6 will sport only minor updates. We expect these updates to be limited to new front and rear bumpers, a slightly refreshed front grille, and a set of new alloy wheels.

Though the outgoing version of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 is decently equipped with the inclusion of features such as Auto AC, AC vents on all three rows, an 8-touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, roof rails, one-touch recline captain seats for middle-row passengers, it does fall a bit short on some features by today's standards.

With the update, we expect Maruti Suzuki to add some features from the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Baleno to make the XL6 a bit more contemporary. This means the updated Maruti Suzuki XL6 may get the updated infotainment unit with a larger 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment unit, a 360-degree surround-view camera and a few more additional features.

Safety

We expect Maruti Suzuki to up the safety standards of the upcoming version of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 by offering up to 6-airbags as standard and a few more additional safety features such as lane-keeping assist, blind-spot alert, parking assistance and a few more.

Engine & Gearbox

It is most likely that the updated version of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 will get an updated powertrain. This new engine will be a more fuel-efficient version of the 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that does duty on the outgoing model.

Apart from the increased efficiency, the updated model could produce a bit more power and torque than the current model.

It is also rumoured that the current 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox will be replaced by a more modern and sophisticated 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. This will not only give better fuel efficiency figures but it will also keep the engine running in the sweet spot for a more refined driving experience.

Price

Despite the update, we expect Maruti Suzuki to hike the prices of the updated version of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 by a small margin to maintain the aggressive pricing. At present, the outgoing version of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 price ranges from Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom, India) to Rs 12.02 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
