2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG Likely To Be Launched Soon
Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the 2022 iteration of the Brezza SUV in India. Moreover, the automaker is also planning to launch the CNG version of the SUV soon in the Indian automobile market.
However, we expect the launch of the CNG version of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza to take place a few months after the introduction of the standard variant in the market. Also, the introduction of the CNG variant of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza will also help the Indo-Japanese automaker improve sales volume and hopefully beat the segment leader.
When launched, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza will be the Indo-Japanese automaker's first CNG SUV in India. However, we are not sure about the exact launch date of the SUV.
Speaking about Maruti Suzuki's CNG vehicles, the Indo-Japanese automaker is one of the first automotive brands in India to introduce factory-fitted CNG cars. Moreover, the automaker has the largest model lineup of factory-fitted CNG cars in the country.
Coming to the 2022 iteration of the SUV, Maruti Suzuki will be ditching the "Vitara" moniker and the updated model will be called "Maruti Suzuki Brezza".
Moreover, the upcoming 2022 Brezza will be equipped with the same K15C naturally-aspirated petrol engine that powers the recently updated Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MUV. This new engine in the new Ertiga MUV is a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit with mild-hybrid tech that produces 101.6bhp of peak power and 136.8Nm of peak torque.
Given the new petrol engine, we also expect the automaker to equip the 2022 Brezza SUV with a new 6-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters instead of the 4-speed unit. However, we are not sure whether the new Brezza will feature the same 5-speed manual transmission or the new 6-speed unit.
However, the CNG variant of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza is expected to produce 90.7bhp of peak power and 122Nm of peak torque. Though not as powerful as the conventional variant, we do expect decent performance.
Apart from that, thanks to the lower kerb weight, expect the CNG version of the updated Maruti Suzuki Brezza to be slightly more fuel-efficient than the CNG version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
In terms of features, the upcoming new 2022 Brezza will borrow features from the recently launched 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback and the new feature list is likely to include a 360-degree surround-view camera, a larger 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, connected car tech, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, ABS, EBD, 6 airbags and much more.
Thoughts About The Upcoming CNG Version Of Maruti Suzuki Brezza
Thanks to rising fuel prices and ever-tightening emission norms, CNG fuel seems to be an ideal source of fuel for passenger cars in India until the EV infrastructure improves in the country. With the launch of the CNG variant of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza, the automaker is likely to boost its overall sales by a decent margin.
