2022 Hyundai Tucson Spotted Testing In India: Interior Spied

Though this iteration of the Hyundai Tucson SUV made its global debut back in 2020, the model is yet to be launched in India, and we expect the South Korean automaker to launch the upcoming premium mid-size SUV before the end of 2022.

Also, ahead of the launch of the new Hyundai Tucson SUV in India, Hyundai has already removed the outgoing model from the official website. This means Hyundai has effectively discontinued the premium mid-size SUV from the Indian automobile market.

We expect the upcoming 2022 Hyundai Tucson SUV to be a significant step up from the current model in terms of features and material quality, given the SUV will be going up against SUVs such as Citroen C5 Aircross, Jeep Compass, and Volkswagen Tiguan.

Looking at the images, the upcoming new Hyundai Tucson SUV gets a completely redesigned exterior that is based on the automaker's latest design philosophy - Sensuous Sportiness.

This means the upcoming Hyundai Tucson SUV will sport the company's new 3D front grille with vertically stacked LED headlights mounted on the front bumper. The new front bumper also seems to house faux skid plates to accentuate ruggedness.

Coming to the sides, the new Hyundai Tucson SUV sports a lot of sharp cuts and creases, which we think would give the SUV a lot of sportiness. Complimenting this sporty theme are the large diamond-cut alloy wheels.

At the rear, the Hyundai Tucson SUV will sport slightly triangular looking LED tail lamps with LED light bars.

On the inside, the new Hyundai Tucson does look very sophisticated with its cockpit-style partitioning. Moreover, the spied images also reveal the presence of a digital driver's display and a large touchscreen infotainment unit.

Speaking about features, the upcoming Hyundai Tucson SUV is likely to come with features such as ventilated seats, auto headlamps, auto wipers, auto Day/Night mirrors, wireless charging, electrical seat adjustments, multi-colour ambient lighting, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, panoramic sunroof, auto climate control, rear AC vents and much more.

Speaking about safety, the new Hyundai Tucson scored a perfect 5-star safety rating at the Euro NCAP and is likely to offer safety systems such as autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, driver alert system and many more such systems to avoid a collision.

The new Hyundai Tucson is more likely to come with 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and diesel powertrain in India. The petrol engine is likely to produce 154bhp of peak power and 192Nm of peak torque.

Whereas the diesel unit is likely to produce 184bhp of peak power and 417Nm of peak torque. Apart from that, both engine options are likely to come with 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options.
