2022 BMW X4 Almost Here: Major Launch For BMW

The latest iteration of the BMW X4 will be launched on March 10, and the company has already opened the pre-bookings for the SUV for Rs 50,000. Moreover, the new BMW X4 will be produced locally at the BMW's production facility in Chennai.

Speaking about the new 2022 BMW X4, the model made its global debut back in June 2021 and featured a significant upgrade compared to its pre-facelift version. This update added new features and styling elements to the facelifted version of the BMW X4 SUV.

Despite the significant changes on the exterior that make the new BMW X4 design language in tune with the brand's newer models, the overall silhouette remains largely identical to the model it replaces. Also, the addition of glossy black inserts on the outside make the new facelifted version of the BMW X4 look more sporty and sinister.

On the inside, the new BMW X4 sports a larger 12.35-inch touchscreen infotainment unit wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. Apart from that, the use larger screen forced designers to redesign the AC vents below the screen to look more proportionate.

In addition to the update, BMW has also released a teaser of the upcoming Black Shadow Edition of the BMW X4 SUV and unlike the standard BMW X4, the BMW X4 Black Shadow Edition will be available in just limited numbers.

However, BMW is yet to announce the number of BMW X4 Black Shadow Editions that will be made available in India.

The BMW X4 is powered by three engine options. The first engine option is a 2.0-litre, turbocharged, four-cylinder diesel engine with 187bhp of power. Whereas the 2.0-litre, turbocharged petrol engine produces a healthier 248bhp of power.

The third engine option is a 6-cylinder diesel engine, displacing 3.0-litres and is boosted by turbochargers. This engine produces 261bhp of peak power and all these engines come mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission as standard.

When launched, the new BMW X4 will rival the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe and we expect BMW to price the new BMW X4 anywhere between Rs 65-75 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
