200 Units Of Kia EV6 Electric Crossover Vehicles Delivered In India
Kia India has now delivered 200 units of Kia EV6 electric crossover vehicles in the country, which is double the number of what the South Korean automaker had initially planned to sell.
Moreover, due to increased demand for the Kia EV6 electric crossover, Kia India is planning to increase the allocation of the EV6 electric crossover to clear the pending deliveries.Though the exact number of total allocation is yet to be revealed by the South Korean automaker, Kia India did receive more than 350 bookings before the launch of the EV6 and continues to receive bookings for the EV.
Speaking about Kia EV6 electric crossover, it is the first and only electric vehicle launched by the South Korean automaker in India, and the model is brought to India as a CBU unit. At the time of launch, the Kia EV6 is priced from Rs 59.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the GT Line variant and Rs 64.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the GT Line AWD variant.
In terms of powertrain, the GT Line Kia EV6 electric crossover is powered by a single Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) with 226bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. On the other hand, the top-spec Kia EV6 GT Line AWD comes with two PMSM electric motors and produce a combined output of 321bhp of peak power and 605Nm of peak torque.
In terms of the battery pack, both variants of the Kia EV6 come packed with a large 77.4kWh battery pack. Thanks to such a large battery pack, the claimed range for the Kia EV6 electric crossover goes as high as 708 kilometres under the ARAI test cycle.
On top of that, the Kia EV6 electric crossover is compatible with 350kW DC fast chargers, enabling the model to add 100 kilometres of range in just 4.5 minutes. According to Kia, the EV6 takes just 73 minutes to charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent using a 50kW DC fast charger. However, this time is reduced to just 18 minutes using a 150kW DC charger.
In terms of performance figures, the Kia EV6 GT Line AWD can reach 100km/h from a standstill in just 3.5 seconds and attain a top speed of 260km/h. Backing up such solid performance stats is a very reassuring safety system which includes the likes of 8 airbags, ABS, ESC, electronic parking brake, ISOFIX child seats, Hill-Star Assist, Multi Collision Brake Assist, ADAS and much more.
On top of these safety systems, the Kia EV6 also comes with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which includes active safety features such as Forward Collision-Avoidance system, Lane Keeping Assistance, blind-spot alert, rear-cross traffic alert, Lane Follow Assist, adaptive cruise control and much more.
Being an electric vehicle, Kia EV6 electric crossover comes packed with features such as LED headlights, LED taillamps, 64-colour ambient lighting, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, multiple drive modes, 12.3-inch driver's display, and much more.
Thoughts About Kia Allocating More EV6s In India
By allocating more EV6 electric crossovers in India, Kia is further penetrating deeper into the growing premium EV segment in India. As a result, the brand image of the South Korean automaker will have a very positive impact in the country.
