The list of Top 10 best-selling cars for the month of September 2021 is here. Like always, Maruti Suzuki yet again dominated the list with five models, followed by two models each from Tata and Hyundai, and finally, one model from Kia completes the Top 10 list.
The top step of the podium is held by Maruti Suzuki Alto by selling 12,143 units in the month of September. Though this number is highest in the month of September 2021, it is still lower compared to last year's sales performance.
During the same time last year, the Maruti Suzuki sold 18,246 units of Maruti Suzuki Alto hatchback. This means the YOY growth is at -33%. However, this can be attributed to new car launches around the festive seasons.
The second step on the podium is also taken by a vehicle from the Maruti Suzuki product portfolio. However, it is not a budget hatchback but a MUV.
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga takes the second step of the podium by selling 11,308 units, with YOY growth of 13%. Moreover, Maruti Suzuki sold more than any other MUV in the country.
On the third spot is the Kia Seltos compact SUV. Despite the compact SUV segment being highly competitive, the Korean automaker has not only sold more than its nearest competitors but also held the third spot in the Top 10 list by selling 9,583 units of Seltos SUV.

Next to Hyundai Creta is the Maurti Suzuki Baleno. The premium hatchback from Maruti Suzuki sold 8,077 units in the month of September 2021. However, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno had previously sold more than twice this number during the same time last year.
