New-Gen Hyundai Tucson Scored a Perfect 5-Star Safety Rating At The Euro NCAP
The fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson has scored a perfect 5-star rating at the Euro NCAP safety test. While this generation of Hyundai Tucson has already been launched in North America last year, it is yet to make its way to our shores.
According to sources, the South Korean automobile giant is planning to launch the premium mid-size SUV sometime next year.
Apart from that, test mules of the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson have been spotted several times on Indian roads, confirming that the launch of the premium mid-size SUV is not that far away.
As per the reports regarding the Euro NCAP safety test, the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson has scored 86 percent in adult occupant safety and a commendable 87 percent in child safety tests.
Apart from that, the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson has also scored 66 percent for vulnerable road users and 70 percent for the onboard safety assistance systems. In which the latter signifies the effectiveness of the active safety systems on the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson.
Diving a little deeper into the Euro NCAP safety tests, it is found that the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson's passenger compartment remained stable even after conducting the offset crash test, in which the premium mid-size SUV scored 12.4 points out of the maximum 16 points.
Apart from that, the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson scored an outstanding 15.4 points (out of 16) in the impact test and 3.3 points (out of 4) in the rear impact test. In addition to this, the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson offered good protection on all the critical body parts in the full-width barrier test.
The Hyundai Tucson also scored a decent 36.1 points (out of 54) for the pedestrian protection safety test. Overall, the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson scored a mighty 33.1 points out of the maximum 38 points for adult protection.
Speaking about the safety systems on the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson, the premium mid-size SUV from the South Korean automotive giant gets advanced safety features such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, driver alert system and many more such systems to avoid a collision.
The news about the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson scoring a perfect 5-star safety rating at the Euro NCAP holds a significant value in India as it can attract potential customers in the country.
The variant tested by Euro NCAP during the test was the GLS trim equipped with a 1.6-litre GDI turbocharged petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. Apart from this, the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson is also available as a plug-in hybrid with a similar 1.6-litre engine.
Moreover, the Hyundai Tucson is also available with a 1.6-litre CRDi unit. This engine is also available with a 48V mild-hybrid assistance for higher efficiency.
