EVRE & FreshWorld Partner Up To Expand Charging Network For Dedicated EV Fleet
Two Bangalore based companies — EV charging infrastructure provider EVRE and fruit and vegetable retailer FreshWorld — have partnered up to provide EV charging solutions for the latter's all-electric delivery vehicle fleet in the Garden City.
As per the new agreement, EVRE will provide 100 charging locations in Bangalore to FreshWorld to charge up its EV fleet of 150 vehicles. As FreshWorld expands its network to more cities across India, EVRE will provide the support to park and charge the expanding dedicated EV fleet with its existing and upcoming infrastructure in these locations.
EVRE will lease the land for the charging stations. The company will also provide the parking and charging infrastructure. The company will operate & maintain these hubs while ensuring the safety and security of these charging centres. The partnership is pegged to support a 1,000 strong EV fleet with 500 charging stations across 12 cities including Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and a few others by 2022.
Announcing the partnership with EVRE, Rajiv Rao, Founder and CEO FreshWorld said, "This partnership provides with the right domain support to manage our clean-mobility infrastructure, as we increase our focus to our customers, offerings and expansion. Each extra charging hub will enable us with an opportunity to go farther into each territory using EVs and offer eco-friendly options of doorstep delivery of our products. The only challenge being faced by a unique retailer like us was the support infrastructure to reach out to a wider audience. With this hurdle out of way, we are looking forward to achieving our mission for pan-Indian operations while minimising our carbon footprint".
Speaking about the new partnership with FreshWorld, Krishna K Jasti, Co-Founder and CEO of EVRE said, "It gives us pride in associating with a brand like FreshWorld that is utilizing the true benefits of clean mobility for its core business. This is another milestone in our journey as we are partnering with another important player in the EV ecosystem that mutually strengthens our 600-strong EV charging stations network across the country. Backed by another partnership, we are firm and steadfast in our goal to achieve the 50,000 mark by end of 2023."
EVRE in September announced another partnership with MoEVing, an electric fleet startup for urban mobility, to set up 1,000 charging stations across the country by the end of the financial year 2021-22. The partnership would see EVRE add 200 electric vehicle charging stations in the cities of Bangalore and Hyderabad, with the other 600 EV charging hubs opening up in the Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune and Chandigarh.
Founded in 2017, EVRE aims to enhance the experience of EV users with smart and connected infrastructure for a seamless and immersive consumer experience through its patented charging stations integrated with ComputerVision technology. EVRE is India's leading integrated Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure company that follows EAAS (Energy-as-a-Service) model, offers public charging infrastructure in a pay-per-use model in nine cities across India.
Thoughts On EVRE & FreshWorld's EV Charger Partnership
Seeing Freshworld and EVRE partner up to provide charging stations for EV-based last-mile delivery of fresh food and vegetables is like taking a look into a green future. We hope larger retail players also start pushing into the market as more exposure will only accelerate EV growth in India.
