EVRE & Mad About Wheels To Add 500 EV Chargers Over The Next 3 Years

Bangalore based electric vehicle charging infrastructure provider EVRE has tied up with Mad About Wheels to set up 500 new EV charging stations in 100+ cities over the next three years.

EVRE & Mad About Wheels To Add 500 EV Chargers

EVRE in association with Mad About Wheels will set up public EV charging infrastructure in these 100+ cities, which will benefit the respective dealer network operators and EV owners with easy access to quality EV chargers, majorly in tier-II and III cities.

As per the agreement, Mad About Wheels shall enable all deployment at its e-retail partners, in association with EVRE, offering them value-added services with no cost of asset ownership to them.

EVRE, on the other hand, will manufacture, establish, own and operate this EV charging infrastructure. The tariffs for charging EVs will be in accordance with the electricity tariff in respective locations and enabled through the EVRE App available on all app stores.

As per the agreement between EVRE and mad About Wheels, the two companies will set up the first 100 of these planned charging stations for two and three wheelers by the end of the current financial year (March 2022). These 100 charging stations will be set up in 30+ cities across the countries. The next 400 electric vehicle charging stations will be set up over the next 2+ years.

Speaking about the partnership, Amresh Khar, Co-Founder of Mad About Wheels said, "At Mad About Wheels, our focus is to provide consumer-centric infrastructure to enable our dealer-partners by providing an enhanced experience for our existing and potential EV-customers, brands in association, new partnership in discussion. Dealers get the Charging point exclusive and free of investment in these assets. Partnership with EVRE helps us in completing the loop of providing 360o services, and to our customers by providing charging touch-points at convenient last-mile locations as well as driving profitability for our dealer-partners at the same time. All these quality chargers are 2W & 3W smart-enabled".

Krishna K Jasti, CEO & Co-Founder of EVRE said, "We at EVRE strive to increase the touchpoints for EVs with our best-in-class EV Charging infrastructure and continue to increase our footprint across the nation. MAW provides us with one such platform that enables us to reach out to the length of breadth of the country, touching a majority of the districts in our country within a year. This added infrastructure to their existing set-up will help the dealers with incremental revenue for utilising the chargers as public infrastructure, as well as utilising the parking spaces for charging hubs. We are a firm believer that tier-II & III cities in India will play an important role in pushing the clean mobility drive and we are fully geared up to satiate that demand across the country with our hub model".

Thoughts on the partnership between EVRE and Mad About Wheels

The partnership between EVRE and Mad About Wheels targets Tier II and Tier III cities across the country. If these cities get sufficiently decent EV charging infrastructure and if fuel prices continue to soar, then the push to fully electrify India with EVs could come a whole lot sooner than we currently think is possible.
