BMW 6-Series GT Facelift (2021) Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 67.90 Lakh

BMW India has launched the 6-Series GT facelift in the country. The new BMW 6-Series GT retails at a starting price of Rs 67.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The deliveries of the luxury-sedan are expected to start soon.

The new BMW 6-Series GT is offered in three variants and engine options. The petrol model is the base-spec trim of the sedan. The diesel engine is offered in two variants: the Luxury Line and the M Sport. Both variants retail at Rs 68.90 lakh and 77.90 lakh. All prices mentioned are (ex-showroom, India).

The new BMW 6 Series is available in new exciting colours. The BMW Individual finish Tanzanite Blue metallic is offered for the first time. Other colours such as the Phytonic Blue metallic, the Piemont Red metallic and the Bernina Grey Amber effect have been added to the colour range as well.

The company has also announced that all bookings made on or before April 30, 2021, will receive original BMW accessories and lifestyle collection products worth INR 1.5 Lakh. This includes such as Mont-Blanc for BMW, BMW display key, headphones for rear-seat entertainment and more.

Speaking about the car itself, the new BMW 6-Series GT, as mentioned before is offered with three engine options. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged unit produces a maximum of 257bhp at 5000rpm and a peak torque of 400Nm between 1550rpm and 4400rpm.

The diesel unit of the 620d luxury line is a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged unit that dishes out 188bhp and 400Nm of torque. On the other hand, the top-spec 3.0-litre diesel twin-turbocharged unit on the 630d M Sport variant produces 263bhp and a peak torque of 620Nm. All engines are offered with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.

The exteriors of the 2021 BMW 6-Series GT features subtle revisions. This includes a larger grille, new sleek-looking LED headlamps with laser technology and L-shaped LED DRLs, redesigned bumpers and trapezoidal exhaust tips. However, the luxury sedan maintains its notch-back design as seen on the previous models of the 6-Series GT.

Moving to the interiors of the new BMW 6-Series GT, the company has updated the infotainment package on the sedan. It now features a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with the brand's latest iteration of connected technology.

BMW has also added its 'Reversing Assistant' feature, which will help in parking the luxury car by controlling the steering duties on its own for up to 50 metres. Other features on the sedan include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, two 10.25-inch rear-seat entertainment screens, 360-degree parking camera, four-zone climate control, electrically adjustable rear seats, panoramic sunroof, air suspension and doors with a soft close function; among others. The BMW 630d is offered with an exclusive 'Nappa' leather upholstery with diamond stitching.

BMW is also offering ease of ownership with a host of financial services. BMW 360 offers low monthly payments, assured buy-back of up to 4 years and flexible end of term options.

Additionally, customers can also purchase service packages offered by the company. This includes Service Inclusive and Service Inclusive Plus packages, which will further reduce the cost of ownership.

Customers can choose from a variety of service plans according to duration and mileage. The packages cover Condition Based Service (CBS) and maintenance work with plans ranging from 3-year/40,000km to 10-year/2,00,000km. The service packages are the lowest in the segment starting at approximately Rs 52,000 for 3 years.
