Tata Gravitas Spotted Testing With New Alloy Wheels: Spy Pics & Details
The Tata Gravitas has been spotted yet again testing ahead of its launch in the Indian market. The company is expected to launch the Gravitas extended SUV during the festive season this year in the country.

Ahead of its launch, the upcoming three-row SUV has been spied testing with a new alloy wheel design. Latest spy images from Rushlane, reveals a completely camouflaged mule testing with a new 9-spoke alloy wheel design.

The new 9-spoke alloy wheels could be 18-inch in size and give the SUV a premium look and feel. According to the report, the new wheel design could be inspired by the ones seen on the luxurious Range Rover, which come equipped with the distinctive 10-spoke alloy wheels.

Earlier spotting of the Gravitas has revealed various alloy wheel design such as a five-spoke and a six-spoke dual-tone unit. They were also different in size as well ranging from 16-inch to 18-inch wheels. These alloy wheels could be offered as optional accessories on the upcoming SUV when launched in India.

Apart from the new alloy wheels design rest of the SUV seems to be similar to ones spied earlier. The Gravitas will borrow most of its features from the Harrier SUV including the split-headlamp setup. However, the rear of the SUV has been tweaked a little with a major change being a flat roof-line as compared to the swooping design of the Harrier.

The change in rear design could have been done to accommodate more headroom for the third-row passengers. The Gravitas SUV is 62mm longer than the standard Harrier and could make for a roomier third-row.

The engine and transmission options on the Gravitas will also be borrowed from the Harrier SUV. This includes a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, ‘Kryotec' diesel engine that churns out 168bhp and 350Nm of torque.

It comes mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox, with an optional six-speed automatic. We expect the same powertrain options to be offered on the Gravitas SUV with a slightly higher state of tune to support the extra weight.

Once launched, the Tata Gravitas will rival the Mahindra XUV500 and the recently launched MG Hector Plus in the Indian market. There are few other three-row SUVs from Hyundai, Kia and Jeep that will be introduced soon In India. Although the Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner are placed way above, the Gravitas could be a cheaper alternative.

Thoughts About The Tata Gravitas Spotted Testing With New Alloy Wheels
Tata could be looking to offer customization programme with the Gravitas, much like the Altroz model in its line-up. The launch of the Gravitas has been delayed due to the ongoing pandemic and is now expected to arrive during Diwali this year.
