Maruti Suzuki Encourages Its Customers To Opt For Electric Vehicles For A Greener Environment
Since our natural resources are getting scarce, automobile manufacturers are focusing more on electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids as they are said to be the future of mobility. According to a report by Times Of India, Maruti Suzuki India believes the momentum of electric mobility in India has nothing to do with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Maruti Suzuki is yet to launch an EV in the Indian market. Whereas other manufacturers like Hyundai and Tata Motors have already launched products such as the Kona and Nexon EV. However, Maruti has confirmed that it is working on an all-electric model of its popular hatchback Wagon R.
RC Bhargava, Maruti Suzuki India chairman, in Business Continuity in Times of Covid-19, said, "What will make or break electric mobility is going to be a customer. If they find it to their benefit, they will buy it. Several factors like affordability, ease of ownership, battery technology work behind electric mobility."
"The companies can be prepare, the government can provide incentives on electric vehicles, however, the question is whether the customer is ready or not. So, I don't think Covid-19 is an issue to electric mobility, the question, however, remains is whether the customer wants to buy them or not. The electric WagonR will be in fleet services," he further added.
Maruti Suzuki S-CNG cars come equipped with Dual Interdependent ECU with Intelligent Injection System. It ensures better and consistent performance along with high fuel efficiency across all terrains. As of now, Maruti offers factory-fitted CNG options for six of its products - Alto, WagonR, Eeco, Ertiga, Tour S and Super Carry.
In other related Maruti Suzuki news, the company has announced that its S-CNG car sales crossed the 1 lakh mark in the previous fiscal year selling a total of 1,06,443 S-CNG cars. Maruti-Suzuki has become the highest seller of factory-fitted CNG kits in India. It has witnessed a 15.5 percent growth in (CAGR) Compound Annual Growth Rate on its CNG sales from the past five years.
Thoughts About The Future Of Electric Vehicles
