According to Express Drives, Dr Partha Datta, the President and Managing Director at Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles India revealed the brand's plan for the Indian subcontinent.

Jeep is planning to launch a seven-seater SUV in the country within the next couple of years. Codenamed the Low D 3-Row, the seven-seater is likely to be called the Grand Compass.

The vehicle will be based on the upcoming Jeep Compass facelift, and Dr Datta confirmed that the SUV will be launched between April and June 2021.

Jeep also has plans of entering the very lucrative but highly competitive sub-4 meter segment that is currently dominated by the Maruti Brezza, the Hyundai Venue, and the Kia Seltos.

The Managing Director also confirmed that the brand will launch iconic Jeep models in the country, but did not specify what models and variants would be available.

There is a possibility that all the vehicles Jeep launches in the country will be manufactured at the brand's Ranjangaon facility in order to keep pricing as competitive as possible.
