Hennessey Venom F5 Unveiled Internationally: Faster Than The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport?
Hennessey Performance has unveiled the production version of its Venom F5 hypercar internationally. The Hennessey Venom F5 will be a super rare car much like the other models from the brand. The hypercar production will be limited to just 24 examples for the entire world.
The Hennessey Venom F5 has been priced at USD 2.1 million, which translates to about 15.4 crores INR before duties. According to the company, the Venom F5 is an all-new hypercar designed and built from the ground up to be the absolute fastest road car on earth. The F5 is expected to be faster than the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, which can hit a top speed of 304mph.
The company has announced that the deliveries of the Venom F5 will commence from 2021, which is also the brand's 30th anniversary year. Hennessey has developed the Venom F5 under the guidance of legendary racing driver John Heinricy.
Powering this beast of a machine is the Hennessey-built 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine named ‘Fury'. The 6,555cc unit is capable of producing a maximum of 1,815bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 1,617Nm at 5,000rpm. The engine comes mated to a single-clutch paddle-operated seven-speed gearbox.
The Hennessey Venom F5 with its carbon fibre tub chassis weighs 1,360kgs (Dry). The tub chassis of the hypercar weighs only at 86kg. The massive power is combined with an ultra-lightweight body to achieve a maximum power-to-weight ratio of 1,298 hp/ton.
The lightweight hypercar also features the most aerodynamic body offering one among the lowest drag co-efficient to enable the maximum top speed. The new F5 design features active aero that will yield a coefficient of drag of just 0.39.
All the above facts and figures make the Hennessey Venom F5 become the top contender for the World's fastest production car title. According to the company, the hypercar can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in 2.6 seconds. The car will continue to accelerate and reach the 200kph, 300kph and 400kmph in 4.7 seconds, 8.4 seconds and 15.5 seconds, respectively.
However, post the 400kph mark, the Venom F5 will continue to accelerate and reach a top speed of over 500kmph. The F5 will complete top speed testing in the first half of 2021 at the NASA Shuttle Landing Facility in Florida.
The Venom F5 project is overseen by company Founder and CEO John Hennessey, who has shaped every aspect of the car's specification, design and development. John has combined knowledge from the company's past 30 years of making fast cars faster with the highest levels of specialist engineering talent.
While the Venom F5 will stand as a testament to the speed and acceleration figures, it does come with an interior made from high-end materials such as carbon-fibre, Alcantara and leather. The hypercar will feature two screens of 7-inch and 9-inch for the instrument cluster and the infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Hennessey Venom F5 comes loaded with a host of electronic driver aids to handle the raw power coming front the mid-mounted engine. This includes 5 vehicle mode selection (Sport, Wet, Drag, Track, F5), traction control system with limited ESP, Launch control and more.
According to the company, the F5 is seen as the culmination of the brand's innovation and success combining over 30 years of experience. Additionally, it serves as a launch-pad for the next 30 years and is a significant leap forward for the company. The F5 marks the beginning of a new era of Hennessey vehicles designed to delight the driver and celebrate performance engineering.
John Hennessey, company Founder and CEO, said, "Our customers love speed, so we're fired-up to push the boundaries of what's possible to attempt the world's fastest production car record, but the Venom F5 is about more than just speed and power. This car will handle superbly, quality is exceptional, there are more than 3,000 bespoke parts, materials are exquisite, everything is a fitting tribute to 30 years of the Hennessey brand."
He further added, "Records are there to be broken and our customers love that we push the boundaries of engineering to develop the world's fastest cars. But, with the F5, we wanted to create a true ‘decathlete', a car that is about so much more than speed. So, under the guidance of legendary racing driver John Heinricy, our team is focused on producing a driving experience that matches the car's performance credentials. We've designed F5 to be timeless so that in 25 years it will still have a level of performance and design that will be unmatched."
