Ashok Leyland Bada Dost LCV Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 7.75 Lakh
Ashok Leyland has launched the all-new Bada Dost (LCV) Light Commercial Vehicle in the Indian market. Prices for the all-new Bada Dost LCV start at Rs 7.75 lakh, ex-showroom (Mumbai).

The Bada Dost LCV is available in two different variants with two different payload capacities. Called the i3 and i4 features a payload capacity of 1,405kg and 1,860kg, respectively. Each model is available two trim options: LS and LX.

The i3 model in LS and LX trims retail at Rs 7.75 Lacs and Rs 7.95 lacs, while the i4 model in LS and LX trims costs Rs 7.79 and Rs 7.99 lacs, respectively. All prices mentioned at ex-showroom (Mumbai).

Mr Dheeraj Hinduja, Chairman, Ashok Leyland, said, "Today marks a milestone for us as we move towards our Vision of being amongst the Top 10 Global CV Makers. The new in-house developed platform is a key part of our long-term LCV strategy aimed at positioning AL as a serious and significant player in the segment."

He further added, "BADA DOST i3 and i4, the first two vehicles being launched on this new platform, along with other current offerings, close the gap in our LCV product portfolio. Our range will now be available in both right-hand-drive and left-hand-drive options, enabling us to look at international markets more aggressively. Plans are also on for the introduction of electric versions in due course."

According to the company, the new Bada Dose LCV builds on the strong foundation laid by the DOST brand in the LCV market. The company claims that the brand is known for its reliability, mileage and comfort. It features customer-centric offerings on technology and driver comfort while being contemporary and futuristic.

The i4 and the i3 LCV models are powered by the same engine. The 1.5-litre, three-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that produces a maximum of 79bhp at 3300rpm and a peak torque of 190Nm between 1600rpm and 2400rpm.

The company claims the new engine will offer best-in-class power & mileage that helps customer earn more profit per trip. Owing to its low turning radius and best-in-class ground clearance, Ashoka Leyland claims that the Bada Dost is the ideal vehicle for inter and intracity applications and can negotiate all terrains with ease.

The BADA DOST features a first-in-segment three-seater walkthrough cabin that offers superior comfort. Featuring a foldable backrest and a collapsible hand-brake, the customer can use it to rest comfortably in between the trips.
The LCV also features an ergonomically positioned dash-mounted gear shift lever, dual-tone dashboard and digital instrument cluster. The vehicle is also equipped with power steering and AC, that makes long trips a more pleasurable experience.
