Spy Pics: MG Hector Seven-Seater BS6 Model Spotted Testing Ahead Of India Launch

An MG Hector BS-VI model has been spotted testing Spy pics of the seven-seater Hector uploaded by Rushlane reveal a few design changes to the SUV. The Hector was spotted near MG's facility at Vadodaraa in Gujarat.Spy pics of the seven-seater MG Hector confirm that the exteriors will receive some design changes. The BS-VI model will feature a revised bumper (meaning there could be design changes made to the front of the vehicle as well).

Spy pics also reveal that the MG Hector BS-VI will feature a faux dual-exhaust system that is more subtle than the ones on the current-generation models. The SUV also features a new design for the LED daytime running lights.

The rear head-rests at the second row seats also look redesigned, confirming the presence of captain seats in the Hector BS-VI. There are no other changes that the spy pics reveal, but we expect to see more pictures floating around.

Engine options on the current-generation MG Hector are a 2.0-litre Multi-jet diesel engine that produces 168bhp of power and 350Nm of torque, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 141bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. Top-end trims are also available with a petrol mild-hybrid that features a 48V electric motor.

Transmission options include a six-speed manual, and a six-speed DCT as well. Expectations are that the engine options will remain the same, albeit with a different state of tuning. The current generation MG Hector is priced between Rs 12.48 lakh and Rs 17.28 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and the BS-VI variants could carry a premium of between Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 2 lakh.

Thoughts About The MG Hector BS-VI Being Spotted

The test mule does look fairly different as compared to the current-generation Hector SUVs, and we cannot help but wonder if MG will give the SUV a new name, just like Tata Motors' seven seat Harrier was eventually called the Gravitas.
