Mercedes-Benz V-Class Elite Launching In India: New Top-Spec Trim To Rival Toyota Vellfire
German auto manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz, is all set to introduce a new top-spec trim to the V-Class line-up in India. The luxury MPV will get the new Elite trim, with the launch scheduled on November 7, 2019.
The range-topping variant is expected to be based on the new facelifted V-Class that was introduced globally, earlier this year. The pre-facelift V-Class went on sale in India in January this year with a starting price of Rs 68.4 lakh. However, we expect the company to price the upcoming top-spec trim around Rs 90 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom (India).
The V-Class Elite could be offered in the long-wheelbase and extra-long wheelbase configurations at the time of launch in India. The exterior upgrades over the standard model will include, revised headlamps, bumpers, and grille design.
On the Inside, the range-topping trim of the MPV is likely to sport a new dashboard layout with new controls, turbine-style air vents, and a larger infotainment system. The seating options will include the four-seater or seven-seater configurations, but made of premium quality soft-touch materials, and new leather upholstery over the current model in India.
Expect the company to offer more customization options to the upcoming model. This includes rear-passenger entertainment screens, and upholstery options offering a premium and luxurious feel to the occupants. The V-Class facelift global model also comes with a camper package offered by the company.
The Mercedes-Benz V-Class Elite will continue to use the same engine from the current model. The 2.2-litre four-cylinder V 220d diesel engine produces 160bhp and 380Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The Mercedes-Benz V-Class MPV does not have a direct rival in the country, at present. However, it will soon be joined by the Toyota Vellfire MPV to the segment, which has already started to reach Toyota dealerships ahead of its launch in India.
In other news, Mercedes-Benz has created a record for delivering cars on Dhanteras this Diwali. Against all odds and the current auto slowdown, the brand managed to deliver 600 units in a single day across the country - here are more details.
Thoughts About The Mercedes V-Class Elite Launching In India
The luxury MPV market is getting a lot of attention in the country. The buyers are looking for a more premium and luxury MPV offering by the auto manufacturer in India. The new range-topping model will make the occupants experience the comfort, luxury, and features offered on the new top-spec model. The BS-VI compliant power train featured on the MPV, makes it future proof for the buyers as well.
