Ssangyong Tivoli Facelift Unveiled In South Korea — Features A New Engine And Tweaked Interiors
The Mahindra owned Ssangyong brand has unveiled the Tivoli facelift for the South Korean market. The SUV has received some design changes to the exterior, but a majority of the changes have been made to the interiors of the vehicle. The Ssangyong Tivoli facelift has spotted while testing in India over the last few months.
According to AutoCar India, the new Ssangyong Tivoli facelift features a redesigned front bumper with larger air intakes at the bottom, and a restyled grille and headlights. The changes at the rear are more noticeable since the tailgate has been heavily redesigned, and the tail lights and the rear bumper have also been tweaked a little.
The new Ssangyong Tivoli facelift features a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster, an all-new dashboard, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and soft-touch materials for the upholstery.
Powering the Tivoli facelift is an all new 1.5-litre turbo charged petrol engine, and the engine is expected to produce at least 160bhp of power and 280Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox transmission. The Korean car manufacturer has not officially revealed any details about the engine just yet.
Although Mahindra does not retail vehicles under the Ssangyong brand in India any more, we do get some of its cars, which are re-engineered for India and sold by Mahindra. Currently, Mahindra offers the Alturas G4, which is based on the Ssangyong G4 Rexton, and the XUV300, which is based on the outgoing Ssangyong Tivoli.
Thoughts About The New Ssangyong Tivoli Facelift
We expect the performance of the new Tivoli facelift to be better than the outgoing model. Also the re-touched interiors add more finesse and add a premium feel to the SUV. The Ssangyong Tivoli is a fantastic car. In face, a lot of the Ssangyong vehicles are really good. The car is set to be much better than it was with the facelift. If the brand was marketed well in India, it could have a success. However, Mahindra is unlikely to bring the brand back to the country.
