Kia Seltos Deliveries Commence In India: Waiting Period, Bookings & Other Details

The company had announced that it achieved 35,000 bookings for the Seltos after official bookings commenced on 16 July. Some dealers however, were accepting unofficial bookings from before.

The Kia Seltos is currently available in six engine and transmission options. The first is a naturally aspirated1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 113bhp of power and 144Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and a CVT automatic. These configurations are available in the HTE, the HTK, the HTK+, and the HTX trims.

The second is a 1.5-litre VGT diesel engine that produces 113bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and an automatic six-speed torque converter. These configurations are available in the HTE, the HTK, the HTK+, the HTX, and the HTX+ trims.

The third is a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 138bhp of power and 242Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission and a seven-speed DCT automatic. These configurations are available only with the top end GTK, GTX, and GTX+ trims.

Waiting periods for different variants are as follows. Delivery and waiting periods could vary depending on location and variant selected.

Kia Seltos 1.5-litre diesel HT Line

• HTE six-speed manual transmission: 3 months
• HTK six-speed manual transmission: 1 month (or earlier)
• HTK+ six-speed manual transmission: 1 month (or earlier)
• HTX six-speed manual transmission: 1 month
• HTX+ six-speed manual transmission: 2 months
• HTX+ six-speed automatic: 2 month (or earlier)

Kia Seltos 1.5-litre petrol HT Line:

• HTE six-speed manual transmission: 3 months
• HTX six-speed manual transmission: 1 month (or earlier)
• HTK+ six-speed manual transmission: 2 months
• HTX CVT (IVT): 3 months

Kia Seltos 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol GT Line:

• GTK six-speed manual transmission: 1 month (or earlier)
• GTX six-speed manual transmission: 2 month (or earlier)
• GTX seven-speed DCT transmission: 3 months
• GTX+ six-speed automatic: 3 months

Kia currently manufactures the Seltos at its Anantapur facility. The facility is designed to produce 1 lakh units a year. Kia also exports the Seltos to countries in Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The company will also use the facility to manufacture the second offeing for the Indian market, the Kia Carnival.

It looks like Kia came fully prepared to dominate the Segment. They've offered us one the best in segment SUVs ever, priced it right, and have started deliveries in less than two weeks of launch.
