Audi Unveils All Electric E-Tron And First Digital Showroom — Details And Pictures
German luxury car manufacturer Audi has just inaugurated their Audi Gurugram showroom with the idea of running full fledged operations in the Gurugram Delhi/ NCR regions. The company has also introduced tech driven solutions for customers.
Audi will also roll out digital retail elements across the country today. The new showroom follows the service center opened earlier in what is the company's largest market in India.
The company also showcased the Audi e-tron which is the first fully electric SUV in the company's line up. The India bound all electric SUV combines all the space and comfort of an SUV with new age, environmentally friendly mobility.
Mr Rahil Ansari, Head Audi India, said, "Our ‘Vorsprung durch Technik' is truly on display today. The state-of-the-art Audi Gurugram showroom, Audi's Digital Retail elements, and the Audi e-tron, all epitomize a new era of technology and advancement."
Audi Gurugram is a world class showroom that allows for 21 cars to be displayed across 10,500 square feet of retail space. It also features Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality elements at the showroom. This allows for customer to experience the look and feel of an Audi car being configured.
The company also has a massive 48,000 square feet service facility at Gurugram that features 33 bays and houses an exclusive state-of-the-art body shop.
Mr Vijay Passi, Audi Gurugram, said, "At Audi Gurugram, we want to create a new benchmark with the highest innovative path the Audi India is laying. We are proud that the launch of Audi Gurugram happens with the launch of such innovative digital features in Sales as well as After Sales."
"We have stayed true to the ‘Vorsprung durch Technik' of the brand with the four rings and are confident that our customers will have a truly luxurious experience at Audi Gurugram," he added.
Audi also showcased the e-tron which is the first fully electric SUV offering from the company. The all electric vehicle sports Audi's SUV design and language and will be imported to India via the CBU route.
The all electric Audi e-tron features a 125kW motor at the front and a 140kW motor at the rear. Both motors push power to all wheels and offer a combined output of 408bhp of power and 664Nm of torque.
Mr Ansari said, "We are proud to showcase the Audi e-tron in the Delhi NCR region for the first time here as the region not only leads in luxury car sales but also in luxury trends and adapting to to new technology."
"Our limited showcase so far and internal assessment has shown palpable excitement amongst Audi enthusiasts and we are confident that the Audi e-Tron will roll into India towards the latter part of the year and will be amongst great success," he added.
The five-seater Audi e-tron measures 4.9-meters in length, making it longer than the Q5, but smaller than the Q7. Boot space is a fantastic 660-litres and that can be increased to 1,725-litres with the second row seats folded.
The exteriors of Audi's all new electric SUV has been styled with a sharp octagon shaped front grille that features flaps to allow for air to pass through. The e-tron also features a sloping roof-line, an LED bar across the boot, cameras on the ORVMs, LED headlamps that feature Audi's Matrix tech, and 20.5-inch spoke alloy wheels.
The interiors of the Audi e-tron feature a Bang & Olufsen sound system, multiple touchscreens, and other creature comforts. The electric SUV is available in 10 different colours, and the interiors are offered in choices of beige, brown, black, and grey.
The SUV is powered by a 95kWh Lithium-ion battery that can be juiced to 80 percent in 30 minutes via a DC fast charger or via a home charger with a 230-400V capacity. The vehicle offers a top speed of 200kmph and marks 0-100kmph in 5.7 seconds.
The Audi e-tron will attract 100 percent import duties and 5 percent GST charges. Once launched, the e-tron will have no real competition in the country, but competes with the Tesla X, the Jaguar iPace, and the Mercedes Benz EQC in international markets.
