The overall design of the Tata Tiago NRG remains identical to the standard Tiago but gets few new design elements. The Tiago NRG features blacked out front grille, skid plates on the front and rear bumper, body cladding, rear spoiler and blacked out roof, roof rails and ORVMs. The cross hatchback also features sporty alloy wheels and a thick finisher on the tailgate.

The Maruti Celerio X also gets subtle changes to the exterior design to make it look rugged. The Tata Tiago NRG comes loaded with features such as a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and 3D maps, eight-speaker music system from Harman, electrically adjustable ORVMs, height adjustable driver seat, cooled glove box and height adjustable steering wheel.

The Maruti Celerio X does not get a touchscreen infotainment system but features a four-speaker audio system with Bluetooth connectivity. Other features include electrically adjustable ORVMs, keyless entry, steering mounted audio controls and alloy wheels.

The Tata Tiago NRG draws power from a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 84bhp and 114Nm of torque and the diesel engine is tuned to produce 69bhp and 140Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The petrol variant of the Tata Tiago NRG returns a mileage of 23.84km/l while the diesel model delivers a healthy mileage of 27.28km/l.

The Ford Freestyle is a complete package with all the bells and whistles, powerful engine and a host of safety features.

If you are looking for a crossover hatchback with good mileage and a decent amount of features, then the Tata Tiago NRG should be your choice. If you are on a tight budget, then the Maruti Celerio X will do the job for you. If you do not mind spending a bit more, then the Ford Freestyle will be the best option. The Freestyle comes with a powerful petrol engine and offers more equipment as compared to the Tiago NRG and Maruti Celerio X.
