Auto Expo 2018: Tata Motors To Showcase H5 SUV, Premium Hatchback And New LCV
Indian automaker Tata Motors is all set for the Auto Expo 2018 with its new products for the Indian market.
Indian automaker Tata Motors is all set for the Auto Expo 2018 with its new products for the Indian market. The company has teased its three new models which will be revealed at the biggest auto show in the country.
The teaser video does not reveal any details of the new models, but we can tell you that Tata Motors will unveil a new SUV codenamed as H5 and a new premium hatchback internally codenamed as X451.
The third model will be a Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV). All the three vehicles are under the wraps in the video. Here are all the details of the upcoming new products from Tata Motors.
Tata H5 SUV
Tata Motors has been targeting the mass market segment with its affordable products in the Indian market. But in 2018, the company plans to focus on the premium space with its new H5 SUV. The new SUV is likely to be based on the Land Rover Discovery Sport's L550 platform. The SUV has been spotted several times on Indian roads, and it looks to be a prototype model.
The new Tata H5 SUV is expected to draw power from the Fiat-sourced 2-litre diesel engine which is also employed in the Jeep Compass. The SUV will come with a host of new features to justify its premium tag. The H5 SUV will lock horns with the Jeep Compass.
Tata X451 Hatchback
Apart from the premium SUV, Tata Motors will also unveil the new premium hatchback codenamed as X451. The new hatchback will also debut the company's Impact Design language 2.0 which will be an evolved version of the design seen on the currently sold models such as Tiago, Tigor and the recently launched Nexon.
On the mechanical front, the new premium hatchback is likely to draw power from the existing 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine which is also deployed in the Nexon. The X451 hatchback will rival the likes of Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz. Expect the hatchback to be launched in India in 2019.
Tata LCV
Apart from the two new models in the passenger vehicle segment, Tata Motors will also debut its new LCV at the Auto Expo 2018. The company aims to expand its product portfolio in the commercial vehicle segment. Currently, the company dominates the LCV segment with Ace, and we can expect another game-changing product this year.
In addition to the new vehicle range, Tata Motors will be revealing its new integrated mobility solutions for both passenger and commercial vehicles. The company will showcase several innovative technologies at the 2018 Auto Expo.
In the electric vehicle segment, Tata Motors is expected to showcase the Tigor EV which is being produced to supply to the EESL. We can also expect the Nano electric to make its public debut at the Auto Expo 2018. There are also chances of the Tamo Racemo making it to the Tata's stand at the Auto Expo.
