R.S. Kalsi, senior executive director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India said, "Suzuki Connect is an advanced telematics solution. Developed and tested in India to offer seamless connected car experience to car owners. A nationwide extensive study was conducted to understand the challenge that Indian car owners face daily and their expectations from these solutions."
Moreover, Maruti claims that the Telematics Control Unit (TCU) shares information with a centralised server. The server is connected to the Nexa customer care through a cellular network. This makes it difficult to tamper or breach it. The company also said that they have trained over 2,800 technicians to install the equipment on the cars safely.
Kalsi further added,"Indian connected cars will be 2.6 per cent of the total car park by 2020. This is a conservative estimate. We are confident the features we offering to customers - they will love it. And it was crucial to benchmark needs of Indian customer against globally connected car users."

This Telematics Control Unit came into existence after a survey. The customers were facing issues with the safety, security and performance of their vehicles. The system can send out information to five people that the customer has selected in case of an emergency.
