Surat Diamond Merchant Gifts 600 Cars To Employees For Diwali
A Surat-based diamond merchant has gifted 600 cars to his employees for Diwali. Yes, Savji Dholakia, a billionaire diamond merchant from Surat has gifted 600 Renault Kwid and Maruti Celerio to his employees for Diwali. The cars were gifted at an event held in Gujarat.
Savji Dholakia is the owner of Hare Krishna exports, one of the largest diamond exporting companies in India. He states that the employees are the real assets of the company and they have to be rewarded for their hard work. Previously, Savji Dholakia has already gifted houses and cars as part of festival celebrations.
This festive season, Savji Dholakia has gifted 600 Renault Kwid and Maruti Celerio to his employees under a loyalty program. The cars were distributed in an event in Gujarat and the event was named as ‘Skill India Incentive Ceremony.'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the event through video conference and he also handed over the car keys to four employees in Delhi. In 2018, Savji Dholakia has gifted cars to around 1,700 diamond artists and engineers. He started giving expensive gifts to his employees from 2015.
Previously, he had gifted Mercedes-Benz GLS SUVs to employees who had completed 25 years in the company. If the employees do not require a car, they can also opt for fixed deposits. Currently, there are around 5,500 employees in the company and 4,000 employees have received special gifts as part of the Diwali celebrations.
Coming to the cars, the Renault Kwid and the Maruti Celerio are the entry-level hatchbacks in the Indian market. The Renault Kwid draws power from an 800cc or 1-litre petrol engine. The 0.8-litre unit produces 53bhp and 72Nm of torque while the 1-litre engine produces 67bhp and 91Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and the 1-litre unit also gets AMT gearbox.
Powering the Maruti Celerio is a 1-litre petrol engine that produces 67bhp and 90Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. Renault recently launched the new updated Kwid in India and the new model looks premium than the outgoing model.
