Strom R3 Unveiled In India — Cheapest Electric Car Available In The Country
Strom Motors has recently unveiled its first electric car, the R3, in India. Set to be the cheapest electric car currently available in the country.
A Mumbai-based startup, Strom Motors has recently unveiled their first electric vehicle - the Strom R3, which said to be the cheapest electric car currently available in India. According to reports from CarandBike, Strom Motors has already received 30 pre-orders for the car with the company is planning a nationwide roadshow to provide first-hand experience of the car to prospective customers.

The Strom R3 has a reverse trike configuration, with two wheels in the front and a single wheel at the rear. The compact, two-door electric vehicle will be available in three variants: R3 Pure, R3 Current and R3 Bolt. The top-end Bolt variant will come with a range of 120km, while the other two will be able to get to 80km on a single charge but are upgradable.

Powering the Strom R3 is a 17.4bhp High Torque DC Motor with a Dual Chain Rear Wheel Drive system producing a top speed of 80km/h. The Motor can be completely charged in three to six hours and gets an optional fast charger as well.
With a kerb weight of just 450kg, the Strom R3 gets Electronic Regenerative Braking with disc brakes on either of the front wheels, while the rear gets a drum brake set up.

Features on the Strom R3 includes Remote Assisted Parking System (RAPS), Automatic Vehicle Following System (AVFS), air-conditioning, power windows, central locking, large Sunroof, App Connectivity and Remote Diagnostics.

Interiors on the electric car receive a fully customisable dashboard User Interface (UI), Intrusion Detection Theft Protection, Parts Wear and Tear Monitoring, Turn-by-Turn navigation, Mobile connectivity with USB and FM Radio, Touchscreen Interface with Gesture and Voice Control, On-Board 20GB music Storage and Smart Music Playlist.
Thoughts On The Strom R3 Electric Car

The compact electric car from Strom Motors will be priced at Rs 3 lakh ex-showroom and is said to go on sale later this year. The car is meant to suit the urban lifestyle and is specifically designed for cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.
