Skoda Rapid Airbags In Top Variant Increased To Four; The Rapid Gets Safer
Skoda Rapid now gets four airbags in the top variant Style.
Skoda India has updated the safety features of its Rapid sedan. The Skoda Rapid airbags have been increased to four with two front side airbags in addition to the existing front passenger airbags. The four airbags are offered on the top-variant Style of the Rapid sedan. The Czech carmaker launched the facelifted Rapid back in November 2016 in three variants: Active, Ambition, and Style with dual front airbags as standard and now with four airbags, the Rapid is much safer than before.
The Skoda Rapid competes with the likes of Honda City and the Hyundai Verna in the compact sedan segment in India. The rivals offer six airbags in the top-variants of the cars, with Skoda offering just four airbags on the Rapid, it might do little regarding the popularity of the sedan.

Compared to the prices of the top-selling compact sedans such as the Honda City and Hyundai Verna in India, the Skoda Rapid is comparatively lesser although it does not come with six airbags.
While Skoda launched the Rapid facelift back in November 2016, the company added 16-inch alloy wheels and a reversing camera on the top-spec Style grade in April 2017. Now, Skoda has added two more airbags to the Style variant of the Rapid.
Talking about the Skoda Rapid engine specifications, the sedan is available in both petrol and diesel models. The Rapid petrol model employs a 1.6-litre engine producing 105bhp and 153Nm of torque; the unit comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
As for the Rapid diesel model, the sedan uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine developing 108bhp and 250Nm of torque. The unit comes paired either with a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.
Thoughts About The Skoda Rapid Four Airbags Feature
Skoda India wants to offer the best for car buyers by providing the Rapid with four airbags thereby increasing its safety feature of the sedan. The Skoda Rapid four airbags feature is indeed excellent addition by the carmaker to better position it in the market.
While features of the Rapid have been increased in the last one year, Skoda needs to expand its dealership and service centre to cater to Tier II and Tier III cities to showcase its potential in emerging markets within India.
