Renault Logan Stepway Cross-Sedan Unveiled
French automaker Renault has unveiled the Logan Stepway cross-sedan for the Russian market. Along with the Logan Stepway, Renault has also revealed the Sandero Stepway and the Dokker Stepway. The new Renault Logan Stepway will make its public debut at the 2018 Moscow International Automobile Salon on August 29, 2018.
The front fascia of the new Renault Logan Stepway features a black grille with chrome strip, LED daytime running lights, a muscular bumper with body cladding, a silver skid plate and chrome treatment on the fog lamp housing. The front design of the Logan Stepway is similar to the Kwid sold in India.
The side profile of the Renault Logan Stepway features a black plastic body cladding running across the body and alloy wheels. The ground clearance of the Logan Stepway is 40mm more than the standard Logan sedan. The overall design of the Logan Stepway is butch and muscular as compared to the standard sedan.
The interior of the Renault Logan Stepway features a new steering wheel and a new infotainment system with connectivity options such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other prominent features include remote start system which is specially designed for Russian climate.
Other features include a heated windshield, heated front seats, heated ORVMs and parking sensors.
Powering the Renault Logan Stepway is a 1.6-litre petrol engine available in three different power output options. The base variant of the cross sedan produces 83bhp and 134Nm of torque. The mid variant is good for 100bhp and 145Nm of torque while the top-spec model produces 111bhp and 152Nm of torque.
Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and a CVT gearbox on the top-spec trim.
Renault was also retailing the Logan sedan in the Indian market in partnership with Mahindra & Mahindra. Later, Renault decided to discontinue the sedan in the country due to poor demand. So, the Renault Logan Stepway cross-sedan will not make it to Indian shore anytime soon.
Thoughts On The Renault Logan Stepway
The Renault Logan Stepway is designed for the Russian market and it is equipped with some unique features to tackle the harsh Russian climate. The design looks butch, and the sedan is rugged with its new design elements. Currently, there are no cross-sedans in the Indian market and it would be an interesting product for the country.
