Renault Arkana Crossover Teased Ahead Of Global Debut
Previously, we had reported about Renault developing a new C-segment crossover which is set to make its debut at the Moscow International Motor Show on August 29, 2018. Now, Renault has revealed the teaser image and name of the new crossover. The upcoming crossover will be called as Renault Arkana.
The Renault Arkana is specially designed for the Russian market and it will be the first market to get the new crossover. The French automaker has stated that the Arkana will make it to other markets as well. But Renault is unlikely to introduce the Arkana in India anytime soon.
Renault has not revealed any details about the new Arkana crossover, but it is expected to feature a fresh design language as compared to the currently sold cars. The Renault Arkana will be introduced in the Russian market in 2019 and then it will be introduced in several other global markets.
Renault states that the name Arkana has been derived from the Latin word Arcanum, which means ‘Secret'. The company also added that the name Arkana also marks the advent of the future crossover. The Renault Arkana is expected to be a game-changing product from the French automaker.
On the exterior, the Renault Arkana will feature a premium design with sleek headlamps with LED daytime running lights, and an aggressively designed bumper. The overall design of the Arkana is said to be premium which is similar to Megane.
The Renault Arkana crossover will be manufactured at the company's Moscow plant. The Arkana will also be introduced in emerging right-hand-drive markets. But in the emerging markets, Renault might launch the Arkana based on the CMF-B platform to keep the costs down. The Arkana might be branded as a premium alternative to the Captur.
