The Maruti Vitara Brezza has been one of the top-selling utility vehicles in the Indian market. Soon after its launch, the Maruti Vitara Brezza emerged as the best-selling compact SUV in the country. Now, GaadiWaadi reports that Maruti Suzuki is readying the 2018 Vitara Brezza with mild updates.
The report states that the 2018 Maruti Vitara Brezza will feature dual airbags and ABS as standard across all the variants. Maruti Suzuki is likely to discontinue the optional LDi (O) and VDIi (O) trim levels with which the airbags and ABS were offered on the base and mid-spec variant.
The top-spec ZDi and ZDi (O) variants of the 2018 Maruti Vitara Brezza now gets a sporty look thanks to the new multi-spoke alloy wheels finished in black colour. Apart from that the rest of the design elements remain the same.
Maruti Suzuki is also expected to introduce a new colour combination for the 2018 Vitara Brezza. The updates are limited to the exterior design and under the skin, the 2018 Maruti Vitara Brezza remains the same.
The 2018 Maruti Vitara Brezza will draw power from the same 1.3-litre DDiS four-cylinder diesel engine producing 89bhp and 200Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki was expected to launch the petrol variant of the Brezza with an automatic gearbox. But both the updates have been skipped for the 2018 version of the compact SUV.
With the addition of new features, the prices of the 2018 Maruti Vitara Brezza have increased. The base LDi variant gets a price hike of Rs 12,500 while the VDi is dearer by Rs 8.500. The top-spec ZDi trim of the 2018 Vitara Brezza becomes expensive by Rs 5,500.
Thoughts On The 2018 Maruti Vitara Brezza
Maruti Suzuki is all set to introduce the new 2018 Vitara Brezza with subtle cosmetic updates. The addition of the dual airbags and ABS as a standard feature also enhance the safety of the compact SUV. But the Vitara Brezza lacks a petrol engine and automatic gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the Vitara Brezza with a petrol engine and automatic gearbox very soon. The Maruti Vitara Brezza will rival the likes of Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport.
