The new 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift was launched at the Auto Expo 2018. Prices for the new Maruti Swift start at Rs 4.99 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 8.29 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The third generation Swift gets an entirely new design, along with added features.
The Maruti Swift 2018 continues to retain power from the existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines. The petrol variant of the new Maruti Swift produces 83bhp and 115Nm of torque. The diesel variant, on the other hand, is good for 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. The two engines will come mated either to a 5-speed manual or an AMT.

New Maruti Swift 2018 Top Speed & Acceleration
The new Maruti Swift, with its light body and nimble chassis, has a claimed top speed close to 180km/h for the petrol and 160km/h for the diesel variant. However, these figures might change in the real world, depending on the driving conditions.

0-100km/h acceleration for the Maruti Swift petrol has been tested to be around 12.6 seconds. Meanwhile, the diesel Maruti Swift takes 13.5 seconds to reach 100km/h. It is to be noted that acceleration to speeds under 100km/h would be different in both variants. This is due to the difference in torque characteristics of petrol and diesel engines.
The top speed and acceleration of the 2018 Maruti Swift can also be different in the CVT variant.

As per reports, the new Maruti Swift petrol returns an average mileage of around 21km/l. The diesel Maruti Swift has an estimated mileage of 26km/l. However, the mileage parameter of the new Maruti Swift 2018 would greatly depend on the driving characteristics. In short, the real-world mileage of the Maruti Swift will be less than the claimed figure.
With a fuel tank capacity of 37 litres, the petrol and diesel variant of the new Maruti Swift can offer a good driving range.
