New Maruti Swift Sells One Lakh Units In 145 Days — Fastest Selling Car In India
Maruti Suzuki has sold 1 lakh units of its Swift hatchback offering in India. The Swift is the fastest selling car in India.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift has recorded one lakh sales in just 145 days. This is the fastest sales of any car in India. The Maruti Suzuki Swift was first launched in India back in 2005. Since then, the hatchback offering from Maruti Suzuki has been one of the most popular cars in the Indian market.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift since 2005, has gathered over 1.89 million units in sales. Maruti launched the 2018 Swift this year at the Auto Expo in February.
The Swift hatchback is also expected to cross the 2 million unit sales milestone sometime later this month. The 2018 Swift sits on a new HEARTECT platform. The popular hatchback offering from Maruti comes with a range of features.
The Swift hatchback features LED projector headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lamps, 15-inch alloy wheels and a two-tone design. Inside, the Swift receives features such as an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel.
Powering the 2018 Suzuki Swift is a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 83bhp and 113Nm of torque. While the diesel version churns out 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. Both engines come mated to either a five-speed manual or automatic (AGS) gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki recently crossed the 20 million production milestone. The company is also the first Indian manufacturer to enter the global top 10 ranking. Suzuki Motors first started production in India back in 1983.
