2018 Maruti Swift Export Begins From Gujarat Plant
Maruti Suzuki has commenced exporting the India-made 2018 Swift to South Africa from the Gujarat plant.
Maruti Suzuki launched new 2018 Swift in India at the 2018 Auto Expo in February and the hatchback has already garnered over 1 lakh bookings in less than two months since its launch. Now, Maruti Suzuki has commenced exporting the right-hand-drive Swift to South Africa.
The 2018 Swift being exported is manufactured at the new Gujarat plant. Earlier this year, Maruti Suzuki shifted the production of Balelo to Manesar plant to make way for the new Swift. Now, the exporting of the new Swift has started and the waiting period might go up.
The first batch of 2018 Maruti Swift was exported to South Africa from Mumbai on April 10, 2018. Maruti Suzuki is looking to expand the export markets to at least 100 countries and regions across Europe, Africa, Asia, Japan and Latin America.

In India, the 2018 Swift is offered with the same 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine producing 82bhp and 113Nm of torque and 1.3-litre diesel engine churning out 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and an optional 5-speed AMT gearbox.
The 2018 Maruti Swift comes loaded with features such as projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, engine start/stop button, keyless entry and touchscreen infotainment system. Safety features include dual-airbags and ABS as standard.
Thoughts On The 2018 Maruti Swift Export
Maruti Suzuki has finally commenced exporting the new Swift from India. The 2018 Swift has been selling like hot cakes in India. And now with the exports, the waiting period is expected to go up. But we hope that Maruti will ramp up the production of the new Swift with the increase in demand for the hatchback.
