Price
The new Maruti Swift is priced at Rs 4.99 lakh for the base variant and the top-spec trim carries a price tag of Rs 8.29 lakh. With the significant updates to the design and features, the slight bump in the price does make sense.
The Maruti Baleno carries a price tag of Rs 5.35 lakh for the base petrol model and goes all the way up to Rs 8.49 lakh for the top-spec diesel model. There is not much of a difference in the pricing of the two vehicles, but with the spacious cabin and larger proportions, the Baleno makes for a better package.
Verdict
The new Maruti Swift is an excellent car with its new design and features. We can expect a slight bump in the price of the new 2018 Swift. But given the new design and safety features, it is worth it. On the Other hand, the Baleno is a good package in the premium hatchback segment. The affordable price tag makes the deal even sweeter.
So, if you are on a budget and looking for a stylish and feature-rich hatchback, the Swift is the car for you. If you do not mind spending a few extra thousand, then you should go with the Baleno as it offers more space and appealing looks with its large proportions. The new Maruti Swift will be launched in India at the Auto Expo 2018.
