The new Maruti Swift 2018 is garnering immense attention not just in India but on the global level as well. The 2018 Maruti Swift, known as the Suzuki Swift in several international markets has made it to the final of the World Car of the Year (WCOTY) 2018 awards. The all-new Swift is among the top 5 finalists in the World Urban Car 2018 category and will compete with the Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Kona, Nissan Micra and the new-generation Volkswagen Polo. The new Swift 2018 was launched in India at the Auto Expo 2018 with an irresistable price of Rs 4.99 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
All finalists in the running for World Urban Car 2018 are strong contenders and a stiff fight for the much sought after award can be expected. Suzuki has made it to the list once again as the Ignis was in the running for the same category in 2017. The finalists for the WCOTY 2018 include the Alfa Romeo Giulia, BMW X3, Kia Stinger, Land Rover Discovery, Mazda CX-5, Nissan Leaf, Range Rover Velar, Toyota Camry, Volkswagen T-Roc, and the Volvo XC60. Jaguar Land Rover has made it to the final list again, this time with not just one but two SUVs - the Velar and the Discovery.
Volvo too is in the list repetitively, with its recent products making it into the final list. The surprise though, is from Nissan, which made a fresh appearance in the finalists' list with its green car - the Leaf.
